  1. I just connected it direct to the exhaust manifold. Must clean up the engine bay when I get home!
  2. Stax Records......those were the days. Don't forget Sam Philips Sun Records also. I'm still on target to be in Eureka. It's been 5 or 6 yrs since I last made the event.
  3. email goliners@aol.com They are always selling on Ebay. Haven't bought from them myself, but heard only good revues.
  4. So, now i'm really confused on front over-riders/bumperettes. According to the BMW parts book, and, of course, my understanding of it, the "early" ones in Mike's picture were fitted on all models up to modell '71 & VINs 2585136, 2533172 & 2760629. The ones I pictured were fitted from model '71 onwards in Europe and up to late '73 in USA when the big bumpers arrived. ie from VINs 2585137, 2533173 & 2760630. However, there were two "upright" versions also thrown into the mix. Version 1 available for Euro 1602/1600ti/1600-2 cab/2002/2002A/2002ti & USA 1602/1802/2002/2002A up to modell '71 Version 2 available for Euro 1502/1802/2002/2002cab/2002A/2002tii and all Touring models & USA 1602/2002/2002A/2002tii from modell '71. The only thing I can find unique about the USA '73 model '02s is the bumper support bars and maybe some additional fixings for it. edit: ok - although the parts book says the earlier ones up to modell '71, the 2585136 & 2533172 are right at the end of the '72 models, however, the 2760629 is part way thru' '72!!!
  5. Mike, I thought the US '73s had the same over-riders as the Euro ones (see my pics), like on my Touring. I thought it was the earlier '71-'72 that had the more curved type?
  6. Yea, I bought one of those too. It howled like a Banshee. Sent it back, but heard nothing from them. Another $90 down the pan.
  7. seems getbmwparts.com uses the same part search engine as Bell BMW (same prices). www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=26 I've used Bell several times to beat prices by others. I think their shipping is $12 minimum. I still use Steve (BLUNT) when I'm in a hurry.
  8. Euro style knobs look quite at home on a '74-'76. Also, mine anyway, are easy to remove. Just unscrew.
  9. I bought them (see pic for the other) around 5 years back. Can't remember who (possibly a Faq member) but I've searched to find him again without success.
  10. Interesting. Here's what's on the back of one of my '02s.
  11. That was going to be my question. Are the mirror to door seals available? Have they gone "stupid pricing" yet? Note to self- Start buying up E30M3 trim bits while they are still "normal priced". Trap Mirror to door gasket/seal is available, but what comes from BMW now does not match my original Trap Mirrors. Left long enough in boiling water they can be stretched to suit though. Maybe the new Trap Mirrors have a different shaped base now? First pic is what you get now, 2nd is the original one.
  12. Click on Ersatzteil. They must have every conceivable assessory and rare part know to the '02 world. Need to win the lottery.
  13. Interesting. Whilst my Touring's paint is beyond saving, will be useful when/if I finally get around to the refurb.
  14. I would think if you've been in Bangkok, looking at a car would be the least of her worries. hehe.
  15. Yes. The car was "resto'd" in St. Louis (MO) before Flemings got it. Flemings had been trying to sell the car since early 2008.
  16. That poor car had a chequered past. I've heard Flemings finally sold that car. I wonder what the new owner might find. Not too many Taigas around for sure, and for a specific 72tii you may have a long search.
  17. The only thing I'm not sure of is the position of the 4 tabs per side in the nose panel that hold the side grills in. If you cut the centre section like shown in the pic I posted earlier, then you have at least two tabs per side in the right place. Bear in mind, the orig poster was from Europe, so the slots in the nose panel are the same for all years. Obviously in the US a late nose panel will have huge square holes in it (not slots) for the "big" bumpers.
  18. As others have said, only the "late" grills will fit the "late" nose panel. However, you can cut the centre part of your early grill out and swap/weld it into the late grill. Which is (afaik) the only difference.
  19. OR, my screen colour is off.
  20. Nicely done Steve. Wishing you continued sucess. Especially like that you decided to launch your new website on my birthday. Cheers
  21. Not easy to read, but that ID plate has (I think) a date of 01/1980 on it.
  22. Tatty Personal in the Touring, and regular 320i in the Beater and Blue '02.
