  2. FYI. I believe it's normal for '74 on rear panels to not have vinyl over the pockets. I guess a money saver by BMW? Good luck with the sale, they look worth the money.
  3. As per the manual etc., you have the "cup" washers upside down.
  4. A view of the Touring back end. I know, probably not enough of us Touring Owners to make it viable. I would buy a few, especially if they were Jadegrün.
  5. I clicked on the Sears link, and, as I am in India, it gave the price in rupees. 2869 rupees is around $64. Useless info I know.
  6. I started at one end (the back end I think) and, with a small (about 1" wide) wedge of wood, tapped it until it moved. Then continued all along just gently tapping it free. Mine came away with no damage. Helps to have someone to hold the end you started at, as you work your way along, or it may droop down and bend.
  7. It was on Ebay in December also; I guess it didn't sell. Seller states the car needs restoration and brakes need work, however, the pics looks good.
  8. Like you Joel, I have the same problem. Somewhere in the system is a question about searching I asked several years ago. The responses were of no help. I either find things by accident, or just look up '02 things in my manuals, as I'm scared to death to ask a question that may have earlier been asked. We have 4 cats at home and I fear for their lives.
  9. Wow. Some incredible photos there. Pic 12 - is it really that steep? phew!

    WTB:

Actually, 3 holes per side to drill. Agree, for $25~$30 shipped on Ebay, can't beat it.
  11. The pump/motor looks very similar (if not the same). I think the location of the "slotted" holes in the bracket is different on the '02. I think they are at like 45deg and not in line (can't remember). I guess you can always swap over the bracket if, indeed, the pump/motor is the same.
  12. Jaymic (UK) has remanufactured the round washer bottles, but could not get permission to put VDO on them. They are £25 each.
  13. My son-in-law is in the Air Force. He recently had the oportunity of a posting in Germany; he opted for Afghanistan instead. I could have wacked him!
  14. Maybe it's just our side of the pond. In Germany, Ebay appears to be working as an auction, whereas it's mostly a "parts for sale at my price" over here. Look at this auction for instance; who over here would auction this and start off at $2 with no reserve? http://cgi.ebay.de/Bremskraftverstaerker-T-51-BMW-2002-ti-tii-Alpina_W0QQitemZ160396316795QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r?hash=item25585d907b There are bargains to be had over there, but the shipping kills the deal unfortunately.
  15. Yea, my ethics will prevent me from getting rich. I'm in India for a while now. Some "great" vehicles here.
  16. It's all across the board Joel. Take a look at some of the prices for used items (mirrors for example) that people are asking in the Parts For Sale. My parts cars could be worth more than my driver soon! I don't sell much, but when I do it's a low price to another '02er, which appears to be a dying art unfortunately.
  17. These seats look vinyl dyed red. The ones in the pic I posted above are for sure leather (look at the cracks!), and appear to have the correct seat furniture for a '76.
  18. Great idea having the Wife take a car too. Yvonne and I made the trip to V@V last year from Texas. Just our two cars in caravan there & back. Can't make it this year due to work. Great event, great people and great cars.
  19. The '76 '02 (pictured below) was for sale last November, I just happened on the old ad. It has what appears to be real Red leather seats. I have heard of these but never actually seen one. It also has an electric sunroof. Anyone here buy it?
  20. Which State is it going to this time with its Texas plates?
  21. Amazing, like a lot of other folk, I thought I was well into the minority for these bloody awful things. I had them on a couple of '02s I had back in the '70s. What a damn nuisance they were. Unless you clamped the living daylights out of them, they would fall off, or one clamp would and the thing would swing to one side. They never did stop mud getting up on to the ledge at the bottom of the rear quarter panel where it was rust prone. What a useless invention; not surprised in the least that they are NLA. So, having said all that, I wish I had a few dozen pairs to sell right now. I could buy a couple more parts cars then.
  22. Not seen that one before. Usually, at least for all '02s in Europe, the E-code sticker was placed over the VIN plate. The colour sticker was placed up near the pass headlight.
  23. Not if you have the roof open Ray! Hehe.
  24. Not any more. No work for contractors, now I'm a real employee with low wages!!!!
  25. Here's some MS Word docs I made up. The base was in German and came from a Japanese '02 website (I think?) many years ago. I update as I find new info. I would be more than welcome to hear from anyone who sees any errors or has additional info.
