  1. You could also remove the front seat to give you more room for when you try and get the cable back on to the speedo when you're done. Hehe.
  2. Here's where you can download the E36 Bentley manual for M42 info. Scroll down to the first post. http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/3-series-e36/bmw-e36-bentley-service-manual-pdf-67601.html The E30 Haynes can also be downloaded, but can't remember where now. Try to Google it.
  3. Is that right? When I shipped over my Touring in 2000, I was informed I could only have 6 letters, as the lil' ol' flag had to be seen in the middle. If we're allowed 7 now, I could have TOURING. But what about the flag?
  4. It was advertised as a tii in the 2007 auction. After a few questions, the Seller relisted it and removed the tii reference. It may have a tii motor, but as I mentioned previously, neither Seller shows engine bay pics. This latest Seller is somewhat economical with his pics.
  5. Yea, it's a good place to lose weight! I've had the pleasure of working in India several times over the past 15 or so years, and have never been ill.......yet. Remembering not to eat with your right hand is tricky; or is the left?
  6. The VIN posted on that auction relates to a '76 (obviously non-tii). Curious that this Seller (and the previous one in Philadelphia in '07), never showed pics of the motor.
  7. Can't see me making it to V@V this year as I'll be out of the Country. However, I should be back for a couple of weeks in April and hope to make Bo's event in Eureka.
  8. Interesting vehicles here. Hadn't been to India in 10 yrs, and they still are making new Ambassador cars. Most that I see are like the pic I added (chrome bumpered), haven't seen the Mini fronted ones yet. The newer cars don't last long here. When an Ambassador hits a pot hole it emerges the other side & survives, a new car disappears in it. http://www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?hindindexf.htm
  9. Looks like an earlier model than the Inka, Jim. I have a couple of pics I got from somewhere a long time ago, also, I believe of the '02 you posted. (sorry for the small pics)
  10. Hmmm. Both Maxi and Bell BMW have them listed ($17.46 & $15.26 resp). The complete mirror assy is available (high $$$) so someone must be making the seals. Hope they fit better than the trap mirror to door seals that BMW are making now.
  11. Come to India John. Here's a place you can loose weight. Even the beer goes straight through. may your God go with you
  12. Sorry to here that John. Hope you get it sorted quickly and to your satisfaction.
  13. Shame about the horse. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,213971.0/topicseen.html
  14. Don't know if these help. Pics I took during carpet install in the Beater & Blue. I'm far away from my cars at the moment, so no specific pics. HTH
  15. No affill etc http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/1550908302.html
  16. +1 on the pipe wrench. Bought an 18" from Northern Tool for around $15 and it came undone easy. I did it on the car; getting the wrench between the spring coils can be entertaining.
  17. Too late for you now, but Rick Borth in Austin did a fine job on the Touring's 140mph speedo a while back. He was basically working out of his house then, but has now expanded. www.speedometer.com
  18. Unless my monitor's going south, that looks like Riviera blue. Good luck with sale.
  19. If they are like the one in my picture, with the cut out in the side, I will take them. Let me know. lescartwright at juno.com
  20. Interesting. I will need to get my Touring's twin boosters done one of these days. They have lasted 36 years, but won't last forever.
  21. See what happens to them in the UK. http://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2.htm also click on the "revenue generating gatsos" link (top left) to see where the authorities choose to place them.
  22. Built in South Africa for SA & Rhodesia market. http://autocade.net/index.php/BMW_1804,_2004
  23. Hoffmeister had to be involved because his "kink" is there. The 700 is also attributed to Michelotti, and looking at the car, one can see the basis for the later '02 sedan. I suspect everyone is correct, as a "design team" would have been used rather than a one-man exercise. I guess the "team leader" would take the accolades. www.bmwism.com/bmw_designers.htm
