  1. There used to be a Dutch (or Belgian) website just about Tourings. That site attributed Michelotti as the Touring designer. I though the saloon was an in-house design.
  2. Max sells them $12 ea, and Bell BMW for $10 ea. You might want to save some money and try Blunt (Ebay is rarely a bargain these days).
  3. Something odd about that. An E36 strut bar has 3 holes per side.
  4. Every other post (in a thread) heading is highlighted light blue (never noticed that before). I thought it was just me being in India.
  5. I for one, certainly hope you are. This '02 community has heard both sides and your pleas are falling on deaf ears.
  6. That one on the Colorado orange car is for European compliance and has nothing to do with the chassis designation. HTH My Touring E-code sticker clearly shows "typ E6". Well look at that, learn something new every day. Coolio. Tom, I think originally, these Euro stickers noted the E#. It's difficult to see, but in Jim's pic of the Colorado car, you can just about make out "typ E114" along the top of the sticker. The replacement stickers available today have "2002" or "2002 Cabrio" etc and no E# type. Don't know if the '74-'76 Euros had "typ E10" on their original stickers. I'll have to look through my saved pictures.

  8. My '73 Taiga buried in Belgium in '78 or '79. Five cars were written off, 4 that were parked and the twat's that hit them.
  9. It was on Ebay in 2005 located in Ft Lauderdale (FL). The current Seller states he got in '05, so I believe the Seller is for real.
  10. That does make more sense than what I said. Having 4 sq light '02s, I guess I should have known.
  11. Hello Bill, After being out of work for nearly 6 months I finally got a job. Unfortunately it was in India. Looks like the job will last a full year. Need any curry? Hoping to be back in April, and hoping to make Bo's Eureka (AR) event. Hope you & the Family are well.
  12. I thought it was quite straightforward, in a German sort of way. E114 designates 1502, 1602 & 1802 2 door models E10 designates 2002 2 door models (except the Turbo) E6 designates all Touring (3 door) models ('71-'74) E20 designates Turbo 2002
  13. I just finished reading the post above "Am I driving an E6?" and find it confusing. This table is reproduced in that thread. Since you found it, and have attempted to decipher it, maybe you can also explain what are the differences between the E114, the E6, and the E10 - they all appear to be 1500's 1600's and 2000/2's? Danke. If you have a Touring, then you have an E6.
  14. I have info on 5700 '02s in my amateur Register collection. Like the official Registry, some are RIP, some outside the US and some info dated. Still, it raises the % of survivors by a little using your analogy.
  15. A lot less than $12,500 in Aug '09 with the newer tags!
  16. I had a chat with Bob when I first brought my Touring over from the UK (2000). He convinced me it would run on unleaded gas with no problems. He was right; 10 yrs on and the motor is running strong (he didn't tell me the Texas sun would kill my paint though![lol].
  17. Not too bad. Has a stutter when warmed up that has defied me finding the cause. I'll fix it later! Installed new (to me) carpet kit and went with original black door & rear panels. Looks good.
  18. Methinks you need to invest in THE Manual.
  19. Ha, you beat me by a month and a few days. Have a good one. I'll be celebrating mine in India! Cheers, Les
  20. Assuming it's an orig '02 BMW colour, then it would be Türkis.
  21. Was on Ebay (same Seller) Jan '09. Prior to that in Aug '08 - different Ebay ID then, but may have been the same Seller?
  22. First two pics are from 1988 (car was in storage from 1990 to 2000). 2nd two from May 2009 ready for the V@V trip with the Beater. Main changes are seats, wheels, a dinged front left fender (I'll fix it later) and Texas sun dried paint.
