  1. Nothing is bent as far as I can tell. The Wishbones came from my Touring (same part# as sedan) with new bushes. New centre link (fixed ctr distance) and new Tie-Rods. New ball joints. Old tension rods (not bent). Eibach springs, Bilstein struts, new top strut mounts/brgs, stock sway bar with new bushings. Steering wheel was centred and both Pitman Arms looked to be in the right place (centred). The only adjustment that can be made is the tie-rods. As noted, to get toe-in set close, both tie-rods are set to the same ctr distance (345 instead of 361). At the 361 setting, wheels were toed in so far as to make the car difficult to push! In a couple of weeks, I'll take the car somewhere and get the toe-in set dead on. Got to mess with the back end next.
  2. Finally got everything put together on my Blue project (thanks Blunt for the Centre Link). Both Tie Rods were set to 361mm centres per BMW Blue Book. This gave me a huge toe-in. To get the toe-in set close, both Tie Rods are now at 345mm centres. I've been staring up underneath this beast trying to see what if anything I could have done wrong to get the distances so far out. Anyone have an idea of what I could look at, or is this just the way it's going to be?
  3. See Parts For Sale board. Dec faq special from Rob at 2002haus.
  4. This one was on Ebay a couple of years ago. At that time it was stated to be an '02 body welded to an '87 325i chassis.
  5. I totally agree. I posted the "orig" pics to show what work had been put into it. Assuming quality work was done, then the final price is well worth it. The Seller may or may not have known its pedigree.
  6. The car in my post was Ebayed and noted (in the ad) as VIN 2761950. Unless there was a VIN typo in the orig ad (or the latest), then its the same car. Mileage stated in Nov '07 was 176k. Edit: found another pic - the VIN plate from the orig Ebay ad.
  7. And to think this is what it looked like a few years ago.
  8. The light should also come on when you apply the handbrake, and pull out the choke (if you have manual choke).
  9. As the car in question appears to have a tan interior, then my guess would be Amazonasgrün. This would be slightly lighter than Agave.
  10. I really need to stop collecting these. Hopefully they will help my retirement fund in a few years.
  11. The parts books are pretty equal in pages. Vol 1 goes from Motor to Wheels.
  12. Hey Joel, Yes, it's the parts manual covering the body (not the motor/gearbox etc). I already have a set (vol 1 & 2), but for $24 shipped I couldn't resist. I think the 2nd one (same vol 2 oddly) went for a few $s less.
  13. I got one of the Vol (Band) 2 books. I'm intrigued to see exactly what's in it. The outside title refers to bodywork, and the picture of the inside appears to indicate parts reference. The 1600 manual, if it is in fact a service manual, could be the "find" as it may be a real early one (pre 2002?).
  14. Harry, Here's a pic of one of my spare 140 clusters. It's 1:297 which I believe is 3:64.
  15. And, at least one UK Touring came with a 140 mph speedo.......mine!
  16. Received a new Centre Link and it looks like I have another problem one. Whilst my camera makes the straight-edge look bowed (it isn't) you can see that the right hand end is clearly not at 90 to the tube. The left hand end is better but still not true. Shouldn't both tapered ends should be parallel as well as aligned to each other?
  17. Good stuff for us old farts too. Bo Diddley in his prime (circa '73) www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHs6f0mlkaM
  18. Seller's ID is tinal5720 I "won" Ebay item/transaction # 190346383021
  19. Yeah,me too. I won the sunroof car trunk plugs. I've been notified of 3 tracking #s so far and none check out. FYI: The Ebay Seller is:- Tina Lorenz, 3159 Genung Street, Madison, OH 44057 Tel: (440) 417 1798 Just in case someone wants to pay a visit.
  20. Pretty obvious to anyone that the "tiny" hole was the tip of an iceberg. If you "fixed" it in an hour then it's going to come back and haunt your next unsuspecting customer. By the way, the brown stuff on the frame rail is rust.
  21. I have a set of those Mike. They are marked BWA 103. No clue as to their worth. Cheers
  22. I have a used Tan set. Some discolouration but overall pretty good. $85 (+ 4%paypal) + actual shipping from 78112. lescartwright@juno.com
