  1. http://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com/ John Bloody hell; does that ever stop?
  2. I knew you'd come to my aid John. The intention was to change out springs & struts. The job just mushroomed!
  3. Are the tapered ends supposed to swivel (ball joint style) around? I can't move them by hand, and I would think they should be "fixed". It's not just the tapers that are not aligned, but also the "eyes" for the tie rod connections (difficult to make out in my pic). The tube appears to have been swaged to each end, so i'm not sure if can be tweaked without making the joint loose. I guess the tube could be cut and a socket weld coupling inserted; remembering to keep the taper end to taper end distance correct. As I mentioned before, I have another coming, so maybe i'll play with this if I have any energy left after rehabbing the '02s front end.
  4. Removed this piece (between rear tyre & bumper) recently from my parts car. It was held on by two metal clips and plastic nuts.
  5. So I got this thing on Ebay several years ago. I now come to fit it to my Blue project car and note that one end is off to the other. It is (or was) new so I guess it's a manufacture error. Anyone know if heating the tube carefully will allow one end to be turned slightly to put both ends in alignment, before it cools back down? I've ordered another, so I could experiment.
  6. On my '74 (RHD) you pull out the fan speed switch for the heated rear window. When you connect the wire you found to the heating element in the window, don't forget to connect the other side of the element to earth.
  7. Rob, I would love to get back to Holland. It's been a long while. You never know! Cheers, Les
  8. Quick change of Heart? Sold on Ebay September out of NY!
  9. Every traveling salesman worth his salt in the UK had a Ford Sierra back in the day. Must have been the best selling car for a while. Then Cosworth stuck their motor in it and it was a rocket.
  10. I remember the earlier discussion http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/p,614942/highlight,/#614942
  11. Just a guess, but lift the handbrake boot and check the switch there. Wiggle it around and see if the light goes out/on. If so, adjust it so it's on only when the handbrake is applied.
  12. You may also want to try the link below. They have rebuild kits that are sometimes half the price of the more noted suppliers. www.webercarbsdirect.com/
  13. From the Ebay pics. It had a "resto" in St. Louis.
  14. The Flemings car has some severe rust in Dec '06 when it sold on Ebay for a little over $1400. It also had 35k more miles!!
  15. I believe Taiga was "officially" available from '72 thru' '76.
  16. If you click on the Seller's ID, it shows his/her location as the US.
  17. It was for sale back in May with a £40,000 price tag.
  18. It's a condensate tube. My aftermarket AC has one each side, and can be pulled back into the cabin to allow a carpet to be fitted.
  19. 1600s were "assembled" in Belgium (from '66), Uruguay etc with their own VIN range. Do you know the VIN of this 1600, as i'd be interested to know?
  20. The cables in my '76 are (approx) 52" long, so it looks like you got a real good deal.
  21. In addition to all the above; if you do the Euro look on the inside of the cabin also, you need to get rid of the gear shift pattern on the dash and the lettering advising what the switches do, and get the Euro switch knobs with the icons on.
  22. That's true, but there were several "off the book" 1600's much prior to that. No clue what "off the book" means. Yes there were other Euro 1600s 1500001 to 1550000 manuf from 3/'66 to 2/'68 1850001 to 1900000 manuf from 2/'68 to 6/'70 2650001 to 2676591 manuf from 6/'70 to 3/'71 The point I was making, was that the car (subject of the original message) would be a '68 and not a '67.
