  1. Front and rear Fog Lights were operated together from the Fog Light switch. See items 77 (switch), 72 & 73 (front lights) and 81 (rear light) on the Touring tii electrical diagram below.
  2. Yes it has a base and the glass/plastic cover clips to it IIRC.
  3. Hmmm. I wonder! According to the BMW parts book page 63/28 interior light 63 31 8 690 100 is for use with sunroof and located behind the sunroof. I believe this one is like yours. If it can be made to fit at the b-pillare than great. interior light 63 31 8 477 110 is for non-sunroof and located by b-pillar. They appear similar but I think the switch position differs and the one by the b-pillar is a little smaller. Edit: I took a pic of the interior light in my 1976 Beater. Switch position differs and it is smaller than the sunroof type.
  4. It's for a sunroof car or a Touring with or without sunroof and located in the centre of the roof behind the driver-passenger head. A non sunroof sedan has a different style one located near the top of the driver side b-pillar.
  5. As Mike said, it is part # 61 31 1 354 228 looooong NLA. Would suggest contacting one (or all) of the German Seller's (actually, any of the European Sellers) who regularly post in the 'For Sale' section to see if they have one, or can find one. You may have to get the complete latch, as the switch can be destroyed trying to get it out (like the one I beggared pictured below).
  6. Last I have, it was for sale on Auto Trader May '2021 in Rocky River, OH.
  7. Be careful when you say 'tii notches'. Below is a pic of my Nov '73 RHD Touring.?
  8. Steve, Holes started around 2361899 & still there on 2370711 but gone on 2370721. So it seems they were on the cars from Oct '74 to early Sep '75. I guess whatever they were for, they were deemed obsolete for the '76 model. edit: I was going to the pub, but got sucked in to this. The pair of holes were on USA & Euro cars incl RHD and Targas during the same Oct '74 - Sep '75 period.
  9. While we're on the topic of holes. What was the reason for the two holes added around October '74 to the driver & passanger side of the cowl?
  10. Interesting! So 2782393 has the hole, but nearby cars, 2782375, 2782379, 2782394, 2782396 do not have the hole. Also, bergie33's car 2781566 has the hole and 2781573 also has the hole, but the holes are in slightly different location. 2781557 & 2781577 do not have the hole. Methinks not factory.
  11. Nah, don't need to bother Andreas. I was just trying to inform you on Tourings as you've only been into them for a couple of weeks. My mistake.
  12. The reply from BMW is VERY odd. For BMW to say there was not a Touring ‘crossover model’ is misleading. The model 73 Touring, just like the sedans, had the updated front panel & grills and the fake wood cluster surround and ‘crosshair’ gauges. What is generally stated as a 2002tii Touring in the faq ‘Production Numbers’ page, is the ‘facelift’ model built from 08/73 thru’ 04/74 and known as model 73. 724 of them were manufactured. Your car, 3425XXX, is known as a model 71 E6 Touring tii. It is, therefore, one of 5059 built between 04/71 & 07/73. While it may have a 2002tii script on the rear and noted as 2002 in the sales paperwork etc., it is still a model 71 Touring tii. Info that I have, would suggest BMW started to put the 2002 script badge on the rear of Tourings in June, or July, 1973. So, a few model 71 Touring tiis left the factory with a 2002tii badge on the rear, BUT, they were still model 71 E6 Tourings. FWIW: 3424180, 3424275, 3424680 all have 2000tii scripts on the rear. 3424974, 3425059 have 2002tii scripts on the rear. All the above would have been built late June into July 1973 and are model 71 Touring Tiis. You posted earlier that the “Production Numbers” in the faq was in error….. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/articles/technical-articles/history-and-reference/production-numbers-r228/ Now, realizing that BMW 2002 Touring tiis are actually the ‘facelift models’ model 73 only. The above reference in regard to Tourings is not incorrect. HTH
  13. Does not have the brackets on the drive side to hold the tii air filter.........not a tii.
  14. I have only had to use the BMW '02 jack a few times and I had no trouble, BUT, I carry a couple of BMW wheel chocks with the car. You can find them on Ebay for $20 or so, sometimes less.
  15. Trunk floor and somewhere on the dashboard bulkhead according to the Parts Book.
  16. Hmm, the small jet I found I think came from cleaning a 32/36 a few days ago, so, if this "plug" was in the secondary idle position, why would it be put there?
  17. According to every 38/38 diagram I have seen (pic below), I should have idle jet assys items 34-35-36 fitted on both primary & secondary sides. Therefore I can, should I desire, change the sizes. However, re the 2nd picture, I have a jet on the primary side (left in the pic), but, on the secondary side, I have what appears to be a needle valve? (right in the pic). Is this perhaps correct, and if so, how does it work. The darn thing looks like item 16 on the diagram. Real curious about the workings of this if it is correct, AND, more curious on how the heck it got in there if it’s not correct. Am I missing something obvious here? Edit: right after I post this and make an idiot of me, I think I found the jet at the bottom of the parts cleaner. However, it is smaller in size than the primary one and not, therefore, like the Weber diagram. Don't ask me where the needle valve came from.
  18. Considering what you paid for all this....hope it lasts 20 years.
  19. It's a 1973 '02 with a tii (or 320i) motor. VIN 2589599
  20. VIN 2716948 Nice car; had a resto at Oldenzaal, albeit they painted it (seems to me) a bit too light for Riviera. I believe Oldenzaal always contacts BMW for a certificate; I guess it adds something to aid selling. I just wish Oldenzaal would stop putting the 'orange parts' stickers on pre '74 cars. Any road up, the car in mention had pre Oldenzaal past. It seems the car was possibly raced, amateur-wise maybe, but it did have a roll cage, and, a 'late' nose panel with snorkle which may have been indicative of corrosion, or, an off road excursion. It looked more like Riviera to. A few pics below from when it was for sale 6 years ago in Italy.
