  1. Manila exterior would almost certainly have had a brown seats with matching panels with black trim. Per pic below,
  2. TYP : 114 was used on E-Code stickers (on non-USA cars) through early 1974. After that the stickers noted TYP as the model, ie 2002/Cabrio, 2002tii, Turbo etc. So, TYP 114 would be more appropriate as it covers most of the production years. JMHO.
  3. Please take a look at the pics below. Up until late 1973, all non USA '02s had an E-Code sticker showing 'TYP 114', Touring models had 'TYP E6'. After then BMW put the car model at the top of the sticker. Nowhere have I seen a sticker with 'E10' on it. Where E10 came from is a complete mystery, to BMW also. If you can show me a pic/sticker with 'E10' on I'll rethink, but at the moment E10 is a complete myth to me. It's also disappointing that the Faq Board home page shows 2002s as E10s.
  4. The pic you posted (shown below) shows the bezels for your '68 1600-2. As Mike said, Testors paint and you're good to go.
  5. Found the above concept pic 10+ years ago
  6. Hi Gilbert, Da Beater has been somewhat forlorn since arriving in TN. Seems like there are many get-togethers there since I left...........that's just dandy!! Merry Christmas.
  7. It looked like this back in May. What's that brown stuff?
  8. Da Beater's 45th birthday is tomorrow, but after a few pints tonight I'll forget.
  9. It's actually a LHD car converted to RHD in the late '80s.
  10. Actually £14,000 (GBP) but still a bargain compared to BAT offerings, even with the shipping from UK. https://themarket.co.uk/listings/bmw/2002-baur-cabriolet/ef085d8a-daed-4ddf-ad04-478276a07e08?status=preview
  11. Post a pic or two of your Touring. Odd that it has a generator as those were phased out before Tourings were built.
  12. Steve, Birth date likely very late March '1970.
  13. There is a left & a right. Left = 51 11 1 822 063 Right = 51 11 1 822 064 However, having never seen the USA versions I have no idea how to tell. The Euro version becomes obvious once you have fitted the left one on the right side & vice versa (the bumper doesn't sit right).
  14. I'm guessing it's this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154235313462
  15. Been there, done that. I had a new nose panel fitted to my Touring and ended up same as you. I could not get the bracket past the first bolt. The fittings are M8 x 20, so I switched the front bolt to M8 x 12 or 15, which helped, but still had to dremel away a little on the inner part of the nose (as indicated in red on the pic below - left/driver side). I assumed the new nose panel was not quite the same as the original one. Unfortunately I had junked the original panel so couldn't check.
  16. Hi Tom, That's 35~40 new-to-me VINs (new entries). It's raining '02s!! Maybe it'll quiet down for Christmas.
  17. USA 1600-2 & 1602 = 13,162 USA 2002 (all models) = 93,357 (acc to BMW) or 93,360 (acc to VINs) So a total of 112,519 or 112,522 No clue how many maybe currently registered, but I think there are a lot more around than one would expect. I am currently down to two '02s, but one, while running, is not registered (I'll get a round tuit). Since the boost in selling prices (helped by BAT Buyers & audience) '02s are popping up everywhere. '02s are being dragged out of fields, dusted off, and put on the market at ludicrous prices. This year I've been adding 35~40 per month to my database, previous years it was maybe 20 at best/month. These are '02s with noted VINs; do not forget the ones littering Craigslist and facebook with no VIN stated. Like I said, I think there's a lot out there, but, to guess a total.................
  18. Probably destined for BAT next year. Could be a real nice car if done correctly.
  19. A picture showing the passenger side would be useful, as the tent extends out past that side and, probably, is supported from the ground also. So, in theory, maybe only half (or less) of the weight is on the car?
