  1. They were manufactured up to July 1975. This one (4291515) is legit, just not sure the auction is. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-bmw-2002-52/
  2. Car was on BAT in September; didn't make reserve. Now, apparently in WA. Same pics as BAT and, some of the same description on BAT, but half-hearted. Doesn't sound/seem right. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-BMW-2002/274560187825?hash=item3fed0ffdb1:g:ZCkAAOSwFn1focAs
  3. I think the Seller was well pleased to get $18k for that Touring.
  4. "repaint to its original Pastel Blau color" I don't think so.
  5. If yours are the originals, then the reflectors are past their sell by date probably. You could put the biggest bulb you could find in there, and, with tarnished reflectors you are peeing in the wind. As Ray said, you could maybe find someone in the UK to re-chrome/silver them. The expensive alternative is new headlight assemblies. Jaymic used to have them as I bought a pair a several years ago from them, (serious coin) but not shown on their website now. Linwar, however, do show them. https://www.linwar.com/bmw_e10_lights.html Good luck whichever way you go.
  6. Likewise my IE dizzy purchase some 8~9 years ago leaked. I tried to fix it, then my BMW guy in San Antonio tried to fix it, but we failed. My guy asked what to do with it............dumped it in his trash can and drove home with my nearly 40 year old dizzy.
  7. A lot of '02s that have been for sale recently, after a resto, are (like this one) missing the engine bay side seals. I thought these were kinda important and makes me wonder about "attention to the small details".
  8. Highlights for anyone that's interested. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.race-highlights-watch-all-the-action-as-hamilton-takes-a-record-92nd-win-in.2w8bNaxoH94jcSW97qVLfo.html
  9. Probably not cheap, but Cahsel shows it on his website. https://cahsel.de/en/spares-bmw02/sheet-metal/
  10. Always useful to have the Haynes Manual to use where the BMW one is no help. In Tech Articles, Body & Interior, is this...scroll down to towards the end for fitting the glass.
  11. Wonder what it will cost when Laurens sells it.
  12. Having nothing better to do, I looked at the BMW Parts Book. Sill cover 51 47 7 470 007 used up to model 71 (Mar '71) Sill cover 51 47 1 808 680 used from model 71 Apr '71 to Mar '73 (shows several 'up to VIN xxxxxxx' which are Mar '73 build dates) Sill cover 51 47 1 882 070 used from Apr '73 to end production (shows from same VIN as above)
  13. That looks like the optional metal (aluminium?) sill cover.
  14. Does seem a little less than honest. The car is the real deal, but the Seller?????????????
  15. Always great racing at the Historics. For those that may not know the driver of that Galaxie............... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Tordoff
  16. VIN is 4290555. See last pic in the google.com/drive folder.
  17. I believe Tourings had the narrow sill plates first and the wider ones from the facelift model 73. I also believe (don't quote me!!!) that Tourings sold with the Sport Paket had the optional metal sill plates.
  18. Be interested to see the $outcome of this. Will the BAT audience see all the 'work' that's been done under that shiny Inka paint?
  19. I did it in stages; first along the hatch opening then when that had dried/glued, the two corners.
  20. Well done Ray. Being one of the early faq members, I remember the awful event happening. Best wishes to Jenna & Rob and hope things take a turn for the better real soon.
  21. What happened to the VIN tag?
  22. Just the hatch roundel; being aluminium it should have disappeared.
  23. I guess Copart is auctioning the ashes. Got to be a "story" here. https://www.copart.com/lot/33688380/1973-bmw-bmw-m3-co-denver Was on BAT early 2018 sporting its rust issues. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-bmw-2002-touring/ Re-appeared a year ago on Craigslist with (stated) new paint, new front seats and new brakes.
