  2. Wow! Hope the Recaro corduroy wears better than what BMW put in my Touring. No combs allowed in the back pocket.
  3. Water in the fuel. Happened to me once when I filled up at a real cheap gas station. I could drive along at 40mph, but no faster until I put real gas in it.
  4. If that's the original licence plate, then it was 1st registered between 1 Aug 1970 and 31 July 1971. The bumper (overriders) is earlier though. Like my RHD Touring, it was built/delivered to UK in Nov '73, but not sold until Sep '74. So it could well be a 1969. Let us know the VIN and we can tell you the year.
  5. No clue if they are available anywhere, but here are the part nos for visors for the 1600-2 Left - 51 16 7 466 076 Right - 51 16 7 466 077
  6. While you're in there, take a look under the carpet covering the suspension turrets. You never know what may be hiding under there. Here was mine........now fixed.
  7. The car (1457125) was for sale (on consignment) with autokennel, Costa Mesa, Ca, a year ago. Tel # 714 410 0223. It's possible the Owner/new Owner might be interested in having the original motor.
  8. Being a '74 Touring Owner, when BMW came out with the 1 series a few years ago (pic below), I thought, BMW have finally replaced the '71-'74 Touring in essence. Pity they didn't try & sell it over here. The one with the 3.5ltr motor (135i ?), now that would have been something. Spent many times in Belgium......miss it.
  9. Re-vinned 1976 2002. And still on Craigslist https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/valencia-1972-bmw-2002ti-coupem104-cyl/7186758212.html
  10. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-bmw-2002tii-75/ Seller got Texas to give it a new "clean" title, somehow.
  11. Hmmm, W & N have H4 bulbs for both types of Euro headlight buckets. https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/bulb-h4-12-v-with-bilux-socket-45-40-w-23086.html https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/light-bulb-12-v-h4-you-need-2-for-1-car-63-03-10.html
  12. Ok, I'll ask. Why USA headlight buckets for a 2002 in NZ (RHD?). Excellent work though.
  13. No trunk seal, no engine bay side seals, and only 2 screws per hood hinge. For want of a few €€€ should be fixed by Seller. Great looking car though. Many NLA parts that will be dreuled over.
  14. I bought glass & seals for trap mirrors in 2005 at the BMW Dealer in San Antonio, TX. The quality was so-so at best. The seals barely fit the frame and the glass barely fit the seal. Think the brand was Frees or something like that. At the same time I bought the trap mirror to door seal that didn't even come close to fitting (didn't fit the flag mirror either). Suffice to say, I was not impressed with the so-called BMW OEM parts bought through the Dealer.
  15. If I remember, push the glass back against the spring (push against the centre of the glass), remove the seal and the glass should come out. Install is the reverse.
  16. I have recorded a few Inka '02s with Brown-Black interior but the carpet on those that seem original is a light tan/beige colour. This one has a salt & pepper carpet so there's a good chance the interior seats, door cards have been changed. JMO.
  17. https://www.bertsmotorworks.com/ Nothing wrong with Terry, but Bert Hernandez is much nearer on the NE side of SAT. Ask to look at his '72tii, it's won a few trophies. If you go see him, please tell him Les said 'hi'. He did a good bit of work on my Touring & Beater.
  18. 1664492 was the first in Jan 1969. 1664565 was built 10 Jan '69. No clue what would have been the first VIN of the '2nd series '69'
  19. Touring screen has a different part # than the Targa.
  20. Interesting. If it works, then fine. Wonder why BMW had..... 63 21 1 353 317 - left 63 21 1 353 318 - right (according to the BMW Blue Parts Books)
  21. For the sedan, they are handed (left & right). For some reason on the Touring left & right is the same.
  22. Still in the "Werk Shops" website. https://www.thewerkshop.com/?cars=2002-show-car At one time the donor car was said to be red (Verona?).......is this not the case?
