  1. Were Cosmic mk11 wheels available in 1970? I thought it was more like '72 when they phased out the mk1s.
  2. Steve, I was referring to January through June-ish '68; however, I found this pic of a late Nov/early Dec '67 1600-2. The use of this font just seems so random.
  3. 2760985 is 2760958 2762709 was owned by Karl Hendrickson in OH in the early 2000s.
  4. Mike do you have a picture for 1660900? Here's 1660826 & 1660946 and no VIN tags. Don't have anything closer to 1660900 that shows the area.
  5. I have pics of quite a few 1600-2 & 2002 cars with same stamping style on the VIN plates, and all plates are missing the year stamp. It seemed it was intermittent throughout the first 6 months of 1968.

    Very sad day

I'm surprised there's even one in the US! Somewhere I have shirt/shorts from before they changed their name to FC Bournemouth (& probably when classed as being in Hampshire, not Dorset). Won't for sure fit me now. Go Cherries.
  7. Pictures I have of 1600-2, 2002 cars point toward a mid January '69 date. It is, however, not cast in stone looking at pics that sometimes are not the best. VIN 1567693 (3 Jan '69 build) has no VIN steering VIN tag, 1567736 (28 Jan '69 build) has one. 1664328 (early Dec '68 build) no tag, 1664695 (late Jan build) has a tag. For sure the tag was present from at least mid/late Jan '69. Naturally, if someone has an '02 manufactured in late '68 that has a valid VIN tag on the steering cover, then I pass.
  8. Maybe repaint the car to match.
  9. January '69, sometime around the middle of the month.

    Very sad day

Congrats to Liverpool. Been a Man Utd fan since before their air crash on my Birthday many moons ago. My old hometown team Bournemouth look to be heading south?
  11. Is the car in WA or still in Canada? Last year he was looking for $30k.
  12. As usual, for RHD. The LHD passenger side (with mirror) has been NLA for ages.
  13. The way the sunlight hits the hood nose/fender edge, it's metallic. That narrows the field. Probably Nachtblau.
  14. Strange 'pulled' wheel arches, particularly the rears.
  15. NM/no affil https://www.copart.com/lot/40797790
  16. The car was for sale on Craigslist April 2013 (a few months after 'eurokitsch' said he/she had it). It was in Imperial Beach, CA. 2579889 5a.doc And, to your original question, 2579886 is in the Registry here 2579892 was for sale in 2014 EDIT: just found on Bimmerforums from a message by 'eurokitsch' on May '13. 'eurokitsch' = Andy, Imperial Beach, CA. Ph 619 866 8677 You never know!!!
  17. Assume the metal clunk you heard was whatever a PO had attached there (welded/threaded) falling off. If the hole is threaded you can fix it with a bolt, if not, some welding required.
  18. In 2004, mtr 2760341 was in a Fjord 2002 in Penngrove, CA.
  19. Just in case it makes a difference.........on RHD you should bleed the Servo cylinders first, then rear cyls, then front.
  20. Be interesting to see it sells for on BAT. The Seller has been advertising it for nearly a year with no sale. Last I saw he was asking $13,500. I'm sure someone on BAT will beat that.
  21. +1 for Esty. I had an original BMW Cocoa mat set in my Touring. The front driver side one was a mess, even though I regularly beat the #$%& out of it to get the dirt/dust out. This time around I went with Esty mats same pattern as the carpet (also Esty). Much, much better.
  22. Old part no. F4-P30-0025-HO (sport) = new(er) no. 34-000250 according to Bilstein catalogue.
  23. Same Seller had it on Ebay in 2017 with a Buy it Now of $30k. Fishy......or divorce proceedings ?
  24. 1976 with M3 motor. $12k https://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-BMW-3-Series/164243789137?hash=item263db15551:g:ZnoAAOSwP4xe5Q1f
