  1. No clue where I got this info, but...…….. BMW Felgensilber code 144, reportedly for all BMW silver wheels up to the E46. Don't shoot the messenger
  2. Correct. It has a '71 mtr # 2577274.
  3. The link is in the original post above. Here 'tis again, https://www.ebay.com/itm/bmw-2002-tii-1973/202838360391?hash=item2f3a1bc147:g:hcQAAOSwUeVd4nbW
  4. Did they mention the GT40 originated as a British Lola?? As a young lad working for a structural Co, we supplied double-deck trailers for the film crew if the 1966 film Grand Prix & got to go to Brands Hatch during some filming. Got to meet (well, see) Graham Hill & James Garner. One of the film cars was a GT40 with cameras mounted all over it.
  5. It sold for just shy of $27k at a Sotherby's auction in August, I assume to the current Dealer-Seller. So they need to top that at least. They've had it on Ebay 3 or 4 times but the bidding stops $20k~$23k. So much for a quick flip!
  6. As part of the "sport paket", the Touring tii had its own special front blinkers. Same as the US type but with only the one Euro bulb. Much more visible than the flat Euro ones, and (at least two years ago) considerably cheaper.
  7. Wow, he's still got it. Thought it would have sold months ago. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/240247-bmw-2002ti-1970colorado/?tab=comments#comment-1332173
  8. Understood; however, according to the Faq Membership page, I shouldn't see any. This just started yesterday. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/store/category/8-memberships/
  9. I'm a member, but as of today, I see a Blunt or a Pro-Bimmer ad, when I click on someone's post.
  10. I agree with Steve, the stamped VIN on the inner fender dictates the car's VIN. The plate VIN & the one on the steering cover can be easily removed/swapped. Whilst I realise the stamped VIN can be changed, it's a lot harder to do. So, if the authorities look at this car's stamped VIN & compare it to the VIN on the title...…..what then?
  11. It was on Ebay last month. Did not meet its reserve. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-BMW-2002/254378064271?hash=item3b3a1d398f:g:~m4AAOSwgGJdlgwe Seller is Santiago Sports & Classics of Piedmont-Oklahoma City, OK. http://www.santiagosc.com/inventory
  12. Part # 51 21 1 847 798 for the '02s The W & N part # is for E9 & NKs.....maybe same thing for all I know.
  13. The Touring has a longer wiper arm than the sedan (maybe 1" longer), but doubtful you have one of those. The rubber blades were available in 13", 15" & 16" lengths.
  14. Cosmic's July '66 Brochure stated "Light Alloy Road Wheels LM6 to B.S, 1490. Attached Word doc with composition of both LM6 & LM25 Alloys. Pretty much all useful aluminium alloys will have a wee bit of magnesium, and the % of magnesium in, for instance, Cosmic's MK1 & MK2 wheels was very low. Cosmic Alloy Wheel Composition.docx
  15. Cosmic's ads of the day state......Mk1 & Mk2 - aluminium alloy L.M. 25. Heat treated to condition W for maximum strength & ductility.
  16. FYI - when I had my MK1 Cosmics, I found the centre caps in the UK. The business has changed names, but still offers them. http://www.johnbrownwheels.com/products/centre-caps.html HTH
  17. Can't understand why these haven't sold. They are the early ('66-'71) style and NLA. The later '72 & up are like $200+ for one (pushing $900 for 4).
  18. part # 34 31 4 450 050 Early 1602 & 1602 cabrios. Difficult to see detail in pics as the fluid reservoir sits directly onto the master cylinder.
  19. They look like the early ones....'70 & earlier?
  20. Peter, The 2015 Ebay auction Seller's ID was chriszilla The link below is for a chriszilla on Ebay that may well be the same. This one is in Horseheads in NY which is not that far away from Farmington. HTH. https://www.ebay.com/contact/sendmsg?item_id=1&recipient=chriszilla&message_type_id=14
  21. It sold for around $5k in July and the current Seller does not appear to have done anything to the car. In August he was asking $22,500.
  22. The car was parked on the side of the street and a car struck the car behind me and then it was the domino effect. I think 5 or 6 cars were damaged. I was enjoying an amber nectar in a local bar. With all the kerfufle, I never paid my tab!! Vinyl roofs were quite the thing in the UK in the '60s & '70s, and roof aerials centered above the front windshield.
  23. Not a tii, but a 1973 Taiga. Mine "passed" in Mons, Belgium in 1978.
  24. In memory of my Father. William Tom Edward Cartwright Captured by the Japanese 15 Feb 1942 in Singapore and held in the Changi POW camp. “Worked” on the Burma-Thailand “death” railway October 1942 thru’ May 1944 including on the Bridge over the river Kwai (which actually was not the river Kwai it was built over the Mae Klong river and renamed after the film came out!!!) June 1944 my Father arrived at the POW camp 17 Omatu (Fukuoka) transferred from Thailand in one of the “Hell Ships”. Sep 1945 he was liberated by the US forces.
