  1. Although advertised as a 1975 2002, it is an early 1970 model 1600-2. That would make me wonder about the place selling it.
  2. There are no AutoZone's in Boston???
  3. Any chance of the VIN, so we can register its demise in the Registry?
  4. Certainly better than the $23k he wanted end of last year.
  5. Whilst I guess it could be moved, I believe the switch was fitted between the sunroof & windscreen by the factory.
  6. Part nos 51 48 1 813 481 51 48 1 817 070 Unfortunately, no longer recognised.
  7. The Ebay auction has another day & a half to go. Click on the link in the first post.
  8. May well be the same car with different plates. For sure has the same Oceanview, Santa Monica, frame. Here a pic from an Ebay auction in 2010 for VIN 1568207 followed by one from the current ad.
  9. That's Esty's old car that used to be White & Pale Green.
  10. Bearing in mind this car was repainted in it's present dark shade back in the '80s. And, as the current Seller has had the car only 8 months, IF, anything dodgy was done to this car, it's unlikely to have been done by the current Seller. Maybe the Statute of Limitations should apply here.
  11. No windshield washer system either. Doesn't it rain in Canada?
  12. The Seller bought it from a guy that used to be on the faq board. Where did the snorkel go?
  13. They are the e21 rails that came with the E21 Recaro.
  14. The guy only bought it 3~4 months ago out of CT. Regretting the purchase? Here's the 4 sale post. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/238090-1971-bmw-2002-roundie/?tab=comments#comment-1322630
  15. There's a lot of "crinkly" paint in the engine bay (inner fenders). Wonder what it's covering.
  16. The car was for sale in the Nov '86 Roundel and was in NH. The Seller stated the car had 92k, & 6k on a rblt mtr and the colour was Black. Maybe it had been painted it's Dark Blue colour by then? The car was on Craigslist Jun '18 in Mt. Pleasant, SC, for $15k, so the current Owner hasn't had it long and it looks the same now as it did last year, including the pre-'74 speedo.
  17. Basically, they are carriage bolts that slide into grooves. However, if you have a USA '73 with the stiffened brackets, I believe the bolts to hold them do, indeed, go right through the rail. All the earlier '02s were like my pic. Edit: yeah, like what Mike said!!
  18. I guess I didn't have to send mine back, but if I did I would get a few DM back. I guess they could then re-use them for another customer. As said, I sent them back and received nothing.
  19. 2761816 Pics came from an Ebay auction May 2015 when the car was (reportedly) in San Francisco. 2 years later, the car was on mobile.de for sale in Starnberg, Germany. The oval plates are German customs plates. I bought my first '02 in Germany and had these plates to allow me to drive it legally in Germany & eventually to England, where I sent the plates back, BUT, never got my deposit back!
  20. Not sure if this help you now that yours appear to be welded in, but....here's my Touring. Bumper bar part way in. It can be a beggar to get it in with the bolts stuck out/loose; maybe why someone welded them in after fitting.
  21. This car was on Ebay May thru' Sep 2013 by Silverstone Motorcars. Whilst they are in North Andover, MA, the auction stated the car was in Brookfield, IL. Assuming this was correct, how could the car be local to Beaverton, OR, for 12 years? The car had its "late" nose then and some rust was evident, particularly the passenger fender low down behind the wheel. The paint was ok but may have been an earlier repaint as the "stamped" VIN was painted over and difficult to see then. The car has now been repainted again; no doubt making the VIN stamp invisible, and, like Mike said, it looks darker than Riviera, assuming computer, camera & lighting are not playing a part. With the lack of attention to detail on the last refurbishment IMO it is not worth $18,500 and probably why they have had it 4 months and no sale.
  22. On Ebay it is quite common for a dealer to be noted as a Private Seller, and noted on BAT also, although usually under an alias. Rare Rides (MI), for example, churn out '02s on a regular basis on Ebay and is shown as a Private Seller. I assume there is some monetary saving perhaps for the Seller?
  23. Here's the early one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-BMW-1600-Original/293117645662?hash=item443f2c535e:g:mqoAAOSwbudc9dEO
  24. Steve, Esty makes those too. Difficult to see in my car as the mats are made of the same material as the carpets.
  25. You need to post a few pics. I haven't seen it since it was on Ebay 3 years ago.
