  1. München is too far to the west? The M in München should be under the M in Motoren.
  2. By all accounts, not very many were built, which is strange as with 145hp it would have blown the doors off most things, including the 2002ti & the later 2002tii.
  3. I believe CDKs in Uruguay were: 640 2002s between 1970 & 1973 168 1602s between 1968 & 1969 Also, ETS Moorkens, Kontich, Belgium. 14,256 1602s were reportedly assembled between 1966 & 1972. Unknown number of 2002s (incl the MAXI version).
  4. It's been 10 years, but he (Paul Schuster) was in Austin, TX. Maybe he's back in CA now?
  5. Cars were assembled at the Vendas Novas site. Info from several sources; 1068 1502s were assembled (1975-1977) 8072 1602s were assembled (1968-1975) 3548 2002s were assembled (1969-1974) So I'm at 12,688 '02 units assembled...……...close enough!
  6. I guess MASSIVE needs to update their website to show that (strange, to say the least). It shows an adaptor set for 1 seat at CAN$75.
  7. Your pic came from MASSIVE website. http://massivebrakes.com/accessories.php?p=2002_RecaroAdapters
  8. Correct! The previous long-time Owner wanted $7k. The current Seller may be lucky to get what he paid for it now.
  9. sold for $36k July 2008 completed with US side markers & bumpers. And, travelled about 1300 kms since '08.
  10. One of the hardest wheels to keep looking clean. Need an array of toothbrushes to get in between the spokes.
  11. HHX plate seemed popular in '74-'75. HHX 596N 1975 Verona '02 Targa (no pic) HHX 582N 1975 Sienabraun '02 Targa HHX 974N 1974 Golf '02
  12. Yes, he had the VIN 2731927, now 2761327. Maybe it's close as he is the original Owner?
  13. Dtech's (aka Select Classics) complete kit, per there posts here, is $2350. Add a Radiator & SC's labour and you're getting up there.
  14. He wanted $60k on his first Ebay attempt. He's going in the right direction. He needs to put it on BAT; he'll find a buyer there.
  15. Car was done by Rare Rides in MI 6 years ago.
  16. Yes that's the VIN of a 1971 2000tii, probably built around June. So the car has lost its tii motor along with a few other things. See if you can get a picture of the engine bay overall. But, missionary or whatever, he would not have bought it new in the USA as BMW did not sell that model over here. Be aware the odo is only 5 digits, so when it rolls over from 99,999 it goes to 00,000 and starts again, the owner wouldn't have to roll it back, it does it by itself!. Canvas sunroofs were aftermarket and thus not supplied from the factory.
  17. Your being told a story. Tourings were never sold in the US. I seriously doubt that car has spent 48 year (its whole life) just sitting in the garage. It has obviously had a repaint, which may or may not be the original colour. That 4k on the speedo may turn out to be 204k. Let us know the VIN (as Jimmy said) and we'll tell you what Touring model it really is.
  18. Here's pics of my '74 Touring & '76 Beater. The grip trim starts at the base of the c-pillar (low enough to be just covered by the quarter panel card thingie). It extends over the rear side window, across the b-pillar and over the front door opening and down the a-pillar. At the b-pillar, the bottom of the trim is cut away to allow it to cross over the b-pillar. HTH
  19. Mine just died, so, I have the following ink cartridges if anyone's interested. unopened 920XL black, cyan, yellow & magenta used (still ink in them) 920XL cyan, yellow, magenta & a regular (not XL) size black that was put in a week ago. $62 incl shipping & PayPal fees
  20. If you're referring to the $100 "Touring" indicators they are part #s 63 13 1 354 557 & 558. If you search for parts on Max's site, make sure you put a tick in the "Euro box". If all fails, call Paul (Wegweiser) at Max's.....he'll know. edit: Blunttech has them at $107ea
  21. This makes no sense, assuming they are available, Maximilian's site has the US bulge indicators for $260 each, and the "Touring" bulge indicators for $100 each. So that's $160 for the extra lamp in the US one.
  22. I actually like them from a visibility standpoint. I think the Euro style leave a lot to be desired...…...stand 50~60ft back from the front of the car when a Euro turn signal is on and see if you can see it real good. At night maybe ok, in the daylight...….A lot of people are putting LEDs in the rear lights, but not sure if anyone is doing it for the front blinkers? Having just spent many $ on a refurbishment, I wanted help to be seen.
  23. I believe the "bulge" indicators supplied with the Touring "sport package" back in the day are still available; at least they were a couple of years ago, as I bought a pair for my Touring. They were around $100 each, which is quite a saving on the US bulge indicators. You would have to add the extra bulb/fixture for the US side/running light though. Parts 63 13 1 354 557 & 558.
