  1. I wonder too. For sure there are more Tourings motoring around the US than one would think.
  2. Shame. I know of 86 Tourings in the US, but that's a new one to me.
  3. I believe from model 73 (Sep~Oct '73)
  4. I had a chance to buy a Triumph Spitfire with licence plate LES 444 for £300 back in the ‘60s. However, I was living on a college grant at the time, which was as useful as the UK pension is now. Couldn’t afford it. You might try 02forum.co.uk, but, £10k, really?
  5. Yeah, I really need to get a hobby? The reason for doing it stopped when I retired from travelling all over the place for work......problem is, I can't stop!
  6. Autoflug, Repa & Gränges-Essem were all used in Tourings according to the parts book.
  7. The car was repainted in 2008, which may account for slightly differing shades. The car still has a slightly skewed front centre grill, no engine bay side seals and no covers for the front shock bearings, so the current Seller hasn't rectified the small $ items, so you wonder how well have the larger $$$ items (rust) been done.
  8. Tim, The spring compresses when the nut is tightens down on the steering wheel.
  9. Top left of the faq Board page.....click on Articles, then History & Reference, scroll down & click on BMW 2002 Service Repair Manual, scroll down & click on section 24, scroll down to pages 25 & 26...…….Voila! The small gap that Jim mentioned is 0.3mm (about 12 thou). FYI the collar ring goes on the steering shaft first then the cancelling cam. The cancelling cam locates in the back of the steering wheel hub (as seen on page 26).
  10. 2782905 was on Ebay Dec '16 in Bakersfield & reportedly sold for $11,603. It had some rust and a well worn back seat. Mtr was rebuilt prior to 2005 & front seats were re-upholstered. Mileage reported at 93k, but speedo was a '71-'73 model. Pics from Dec '16 auction.

  15. Any road up, Happy New Year Ray. Have a Myers & coke on me!
  16. The current Craigslist Ad still shows the same front seats (cloth) that are not, I believe, original.
  17. I guess it doesn't rain in CA. Hang on, isn't there a song that say it never rains in California?
  18. On the other hand, if after 8 months of asking $25k for the car, and you can't sell it, why not ask $35k? https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/sylmar-1968-bmwe10-m10-manual-restored/6784179039.html
