  1. 1667458 was on Ebay last month in Chicago. Is this the one you bought? It does not look like Bristol and the interior colour is not normal for Bristol.
  2. The interior (door panel) is typical of Select Classics, incl the non early '72 front seats (missing the tilt mech) & the "late" gauge cluster that has now been changed. As it has (had) an Italic colour sticker, the original colour is probably Atlantik.
  3. The notch appeared around July '72, about 500 cars later than this one. Since Select Classics (possibly before), the car has had a "late" (74-76) gauge cluster, I see now it has a correct period cluster, but the reported 76k is probably a guess.
  4. Not allowed to do that anymore.....so I've been told.?
  5. It's back...….seemingly by the original Seller. The plot thickens! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-BMW-2002/173630419124?hash=item286d2df0b4:g:62QAAOSwbKdb5KWg:rk:2:pf:0&vxp=mtr
  6. FWIW here is the ashtray that came with my Nov '73 Touring; it sits flush. BTW it is my cars birthday - manufactured Friday 9th November, 1973.
  7. Yes, exactly the reason. Over the 4 years he has had a "buy it now" price anywhere from $55k to $79k.
  8. Thanks for the reply. As the Malaga car looks decent it would be a shame not to put the rebuilt motor back in it, assuming, of course, it is matching numbers.
  9. Assuming the side-markers were not just glued on, they did a good job plugging the holes and matching what appears to be slightly time darkened Chamonix. The front spoiler in gleaming white was probably a new one as the original would have had slots for the bumper supports.
  10. What happened to the motor etc.? It was a complete car in CA 2 months ago.
  11. The same Seller, has had it on Ebay for over 4 years and no sale. One has to wonder why.
  12. Quite a few end that way. I wonder if it's to avoid paying the Ebay fee?
  13. All new BMW-stamped panels were professionally installed by BMW / Porsche certified body resources and restoration experts - including the inner pans under the rear quarter panels, the inner door pans, front fenders, front nose clip, some floor pans, rocker panels etc. Well, maybe not restoration experts on '02s. I assume this is not the Sienabraun car they have pictured.
  14. Make sure the grill (s) is (are) not hanging up between the bottom of the headlight bucket and the opening of the nose panel. I had a problem there with my later plastic grills after my recent Touring refurb, and had to ease the headlight assys hgher. The buckets do have some clearance in the fixing holes. It's usual that when fitting the headlight assys they will probably be at the bottom of the clearance in the fixing holes.
  15. It is interesting...…...a 1602 sold through Moorkens, Kontich, Belgium. Moorkens assembled '02s (CDKs) up to 1972.
  16. Ok, Seller has ended & restarted the auction with no "Buy it now". https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-BMW-2002-BMW-e10-2002tii-/283240909489?oid=283239468815
  17. Sorry, didn't mean to rattle everyone's cage. Just curious as to why the Germans, of all people, would have E10 & E10/73.
  18. Hmmm! The '02 Club, Germany, thinks different. Being in Germany, could they know something we don't? https://web.archive.org/web/20151223103143/http://www.bmw-02-club.de:80/cms/index.php/technik/-modellcode
  19. It's now on Ebay for a lot more than $3900. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-BMW-2002-BMW-e10-2002tii/283239468815?hash=item41f2634f0f:g:JeEAAOSw1IVb2xYq:rk:2:pf:0&vxp=mtr

There is no "r" in Chamonix.
  21. If the Ad is from '67, then it's a 1600-2, but I think the top speed was a little optimistic.
