  1. You could post a want ad for an original choke cable that includes the knob.
  2. Ok Mike, I'm officially confused. According to my info, the last USA '69 built in 1968 was 1664491, thus, the first USA '69 built in 1969 was 1664492. So wouldn't the "second series '69" start with 1664492? Also, according to the Seller (2016) 1664565 was built 10 Jan 1969.
  3. When my Touring was originally titled in the UK, it was called an Estate. Just to confuse matters further.
  4. Several forgotten but interesting posts in the "ARTICLES" section, leading to History and Reference, including torque specs. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/articles.html/technical-articles/history-and-reference/
  5. These are the two types that I know of. Yours looks like the one on the right. If this is what you need, send me a PM with your address & I'll mail it off.
  6. Is it like the ones shown btm left/btm centre? I know there is a different type, but don't have a spare of that.
  7. Most views probably from people wanting to know what a Berhbair is? Maybe check your spell-check
  8. Click on Registry (top of page), then scroll down to the lower right corner and click on "add new vehicle".
  9. Seems like a good time; great pics. I think, next year, I am going to have to keep a watch for the Rivertown Gearbusters' activities. Absolutely nothing going on in TN, so a 5 hour drive north seems like a doddle after several long hour trips in the past to Vintage and to Mid-Am when I lived in San Antonio.
  10. It's a late '73 2002 Touring. Due to the unique back end, the bumper corners & rubber strip are shorter than the sedan's. I re-used the old strip (doesn't look bad from 20 feet) but it would be nice to have a nice new one as an emergency spare.
  11. Pics that I have appear to show, in general, cars manufactured during (up to) Oct '69 had red centre taillights, but by Nov '69 they were orange. I'm sure there are exceptions though.
  12. That one part is showing as available on Maximillian's website. However, I've been waiting 2 years for an "available" rear bumper rubber for my Touring!!!
  13. 2531049 - '70 model, built possibly Sep or Oct '69. Seeing the prices wanted for bent early bumpers, grills, etc., I thought $1000 (per ad, maybe he'd accept $800?) was a bargain. Heck, if it's not too rusty (was stored in dry garage since 1991) it could re-appear, after a make-over, for 5 figures the way things are going. Just my $0.02.
  14. That's just the 1 of 3 parts that's still available from BMW.
  15. Here's the pics that were on the Craigslist Ad.
  16. No affil, etc., but with asking prices nowadays, this has got to be a bargain. https://erie.craigslist.org/cto/d/1970-bmw-2002-in-restorable/6706660270.html
  17. I have something similar in Da Beater. It was rather effective as it blows up towards you...….kinda.
  18. Hmmm, I thought the opposite was true. ie the joint was "tinned" and covered/not visible.
  19. That black hose is connected to the bleed screw. At least, I hope you have a bleed screw there & it's screwed in tight. Have you thought of buying at least a Haynes manual?
  20. It was a sad looking Copart tii for sure. It had a pre 71 front bumper (still has) and a "snorkel" (now gone), and a stuck mtr (now "rebuilt"). Last I saw (Craigslist) Select Classics were looking for $54k (reduced from $56k) for this car. Perhaps search for Select Classics as there has been quite a few posts/theories on this company.
