  1. Amazing that in 2009 it had 106k miles. It was then driven from CT to CA and in 2016 still had 106k. I guess all the high $ work didn't include replacing/fixing the odo.
  2. 4.25 quarts OR if the filter is changed, then it takes 4.52 quarts..........according to the orange glovebox handbook.
  3. Great turn out. Surprised to see so many square light cars with tall front & rear over-riders.
  4. Reportedly "restored" in 1996 to an Alpina clone. No clue what on there is Alpina though. The car started life as a 1600 Touring, so it's possible the stated 51k miles relate to the 2ltr motor that's in there now, or just since the resto. Was on Ebay several times during 2016 with "Buy it now" $30k, when the car was in Burbank, CA. During 2017 Rolf's Auto has had it for sale ranging from $38k to $30k.
  5. Here's my original Nov '73 Oil Sticker. It took me a while but I did eventually find a correct replacement sticker.
  6. You may want to send an email to info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com they will provide you with the original colour & build date. The one pic of the engine bay may suggest the car was originally (previously) Polaris (silver).
  7. I can't find it either. A couple of years ago "Huge2na" (guy on this faq board) owned it...........can't find him either. I guess my search skills need honing. Edit: Ok, found one link from 2016. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/181674-new-owner-just-saying-hi-1973-2002-tiiturbo/
  8. There was some chat about this car recently. Manufacture date around 3rd week May 1973.
  9. Yes, be careful what you buy. This came as part of a set off Ebay a good while back. The fuse sticker was also bad.
  10. Here's a couple of pics of my "gone but not forgotten" '76 Sahara. Pretty much everything behind the grills was painted flat black.
  11. You should have one of these under the hood.
  12. If you have the BMW Parts book, they are shown on page 51/62 (rear cards for model 71) and page 51/63 for model 73. I assume as they are long NLA, that is why they are no longer shown by the parts suppliers. They are not the same as the saloon as they are considerably longer. Edit: check on German Ebay for "lapo-classics". He often has parts for Tourings.
  13. That's the spacer for the bumper corner to the fender.
  14. 1557264 Red (Granada?) was on Ebay Sep 2006 with a Buy it Now of $15k. Seller was somewhere in the Eastern US.
  15. New I'd seen this one before. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/154703-bmw-2002tii-euro/?tab=comments#comment-987903&searchlight=1
  16. +1 https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/bmw/m135i https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/bmw/m135i/m140i-3dr-nav/first-drive Maybe the real successor to the 2002 Touring tii?
  17. Agreed, looks like a Baur Targa. However, the 4 position relay bracket on the driver side fender was not a Targa thing until the '74-'75 models.
  18. An early 1600 Cabrio (up to early 1970) will have inner fenders styled like this one:- Later Cabrios (last few 1600s & the 2002 Cabrios - from early 1970) have the added "crumple zones" on the inner fender, like this: This may narrow down your year question, and, as others have said, the VIN should be stamped into the inner passenger fender (if the inner fender has been replaced/removed you may be wise to give the car back to the Seller)

  20. This may not be of any help, but, here's a pic of my Touring showing the original holes (well, actually, bolts in the holes) & the end of the bumper mtg bracket. Hopefully it gives you an idea of the location area. It looks like there's a depression on the side of your frame rail where one of the original holes may have been welded up?
  21. Can't imagine you'd lose at the asking price. Well done.
  22. That's the one for sale in Reno; surprisingly cheap for a tii, or........
  23. Likewise, and i'm using a regular Dell desktop. Oh well
