  1. Unknown "Blue". Originally Fjord and repainted by a former Owner. Any clues?
  2. Well, mine are on the right side! You really need it on a RHD & especially with Touring with a higher (taller) windshield. To get the wiper to clean high up you have a longer wiper blade and it doesn't want to wipe the bottom corner; so having the "spoiler" helps a little.
  3. Post a message here http://www.02forum.co.uk/ Maybe someone local can meet up with you.
  4. Since bringing my Touring over from the UK in 2000, I have been collecting parts for the inevitable refurbishment. In 2006 I bought a pair of URO door seals (BMW ones were NLA then). Spring forward to now, and I attempted to fit said UROs and found the same problem as most people. My original seals were good except for the part that ran down the B-pillar. So, not wanting to pay BMW close to $600 for their new ones, I removed the B-pillar part from my original seals and used that part from the UROs. Worked a treat, especially as the pair of UROs had only cost $212 inc shipping back in '06. For those of you that have removed URO seals in favour of BMW ones, you may find a decent market to sell the B-pillar part from the UROs. Every cloud has a silver lining.
  5. 18 Aug '67 was a Friday............that seems an odd day to start a new model/design. FWIW the 1967 calendar is the same as the current 2017 (just found that out!)
  6. I actually have conflicting info on the start of US 2002 production. I have that it was Feb '68, but, also that two US 2002s were built in '67 (Dec?) (one, at least, was a press car). So I guess Jan '68 would be a happy medium.
  7. Steve, Yes, I was thinking of US model cars. ie 1600-2 starting at 1560001 in Aug '67 and 2002 starting at 1660001 in Feb '68. Both after the "Euro" cars changed to 12v. My guesstimate for 1533868 would be end of Jul '67, but this is purely based on 1533868 being around 60% of the 1600-2s produced in 1967. Not exactly scientific. However, it may be more likely that BMW switched after the factory holiday/vacation in '67?
  8. As far as I can decipher, according to the BMW Blue Parts book, all US 1600-2 & 2002 models had 12v systems. Related to Generator/Alternator, Starter Motor & Coil Euro LHD 1600-2 changed over to 12v at (6v) 1533867 - 1533868 (12v) Euro RHD 1600-2 changed over to 12v at (6v) 1550269 - 1550270 (12v) Maybe this helps?
  9. So, the Bosch LHD is still available, and at $294 a real good price versus the normal suppliers.
  10. The US style sealed beam lamps will not fit into the Euro buckets. You would need a pair of US style buckets to suit the Pelican lamps. You should be able to find a couple of LHD headlight assemblies in Germany, but, make sure the reflectors are in good shape. For some reason RHD Euro headlight assys are available new (albeit expensive), but not, it seems, LHD assys. This supplier (Cahsel) has them http://www.bmw02.de/Illumination.58.0.html?&L=2
  11. If the pic was taken in the UK I would guess at an early '50s Ford Consul, but, as the people look European (German?), I think you are right with a Taurus 12M.
  12. As Ed said. No RHD tii Tourings built and RHD Tourings came with the 2 ltr motor only. RHD Tourings are almost as rare as Turbos with only 1876 built. It has chrome front grilles, so it will be a model 71 ('71-'73). The body looks real decent, bar the bottom of the right door. Good luck.
  13. When last on Ebay (2008) the Seller claimed mileage at 140k and stated 8k on a rebuilt motor. You will see now the 97k is on a '71 to '73 speedo. Car was previously Silver.
  14. I seem to remember, my email address went into their trash bin, so I used my work email and that worked. Probably as I worked for a German company!!
  15. Hmmm.....yes, just like the plate shows.
  16. My receipt for purchase of my Touring back in '86 Scan_Doc0537.pdf Then and now
  17. Sir, you have had it for sale on Craigslist for a month or more. I think your asking price v car condition is optimistic.
  18. Does anyone know what this is really about? The few parts for my Touring that BMW have not made NLA, I too have to prove ownership etc., to get Touring specific parts. Fortunately W & N do not seem to bother.........at the moment.
  19. I have yet to find a sales brochure for the 2002 that shows a car with a "flag" mirror. The 1975 sales brochure shows a Siena car with a "trap" mirror.
  20. Send your VIN to info.grouparchiv@bmwgroup.com They will get back to you in a day or so with build date, delivery date & original colour.
  21. If your car was manufactured late '71 (Sep-Dec) then it will be a '72 model.
  22. The other one looks like the support from the block to the starter motor. Battery earth strap attaches to it also.
