  1. They are on the right side.......so one might say they are on the correct side. hehe
  2. Open ended only came with the original tool set.
  3. Sorry Mike, I do not have any info on that one. I have info on over 10,000 VINs, but, obviously, there are a lot more out there somewhere. Yours looked to have been in decent shape, so there's a good chance it's still around. I do have info on around 3000 '02s but no VIN. If you know the licence plate # and give me the city you sold it in, (it's a long shot) we may get lucky.
  4. Jim, I pried it off from the outside, but, to be honest, is was barely being held. I guess I had problems putting it back on in the '80s after the first refurb. I was lucky it didn't just fall off over the years.
  5. I'm still trying to figure out how to get them on. The Touring has a double (inner) skin between the taillights. I can get the Touring badge secured as the nubs sit in the openings, but the 2002 badge is all behind the inner skin. I'm not sure a 5 year old's fingers can get the grommets on. Currently the 2002 badge is just pushed through the holes.......I'll fix it later!
  6. The reason I queried it Steve was......the Euro headlight reflector is specific (different) for LHD and RHD. It could be that the adjusters are "handed". I'm going to have to see if I can find my old RHD headlights and compare them to what I bought over here. Cheers.
  7. A few years ago, there was a guy in the UK reproducing the original floor mount. Can't remember his name, but you may find him by asking on the UK forum. http://www.02forum.co.uk/ HTH
  8. Silly question time! Can the US buckets, presumably designed for a LHD car driving on the right side of the road, be fitted and aimed correctly for a RHD car driving on the left side?
  9. Looks like a bargain compared to this..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-e10-2002-2002Ti-Left-Front-Euro-Spec-Flat-Turn-Signal-Assembly-1967-70-NEW/152294227836?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3Dbf608dcd5f5c4bcaa2ad5c3f7781b1fe%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D361890786678
  10. Just to add a little more fuel..... The front windscreen & rear window seals look new, maybe with a black (Turbo) filler strip rather than the shiny one. This, along with the pristine hood underside and the poorly fitted grip edge over the passenger rear side window, might suggest a complete respray.
  11. Malt vinegar not allowed......only for fish & chips. However, it is a great rust remover.
  12. Parts specific for the Touring are going NLA in a hurry. Trying to refurbish a Touring (as I am now) is not easy. B-Pillar alloy trim, hatch opening seal & rear bumper rubber moulding strip all NLA, and, what is available, as Mojojoy stated, you need to prove VIN & Title. No clue about this bizarre BMW business practice is about. If you get parts from Walloth & Nesch (Germany) no Title is needed (at least that was the case 2~3 months ago).
  13. Not mine. It was on ebay a while back. Refurbished by Rare Rides in MI.
  14. He's extremely economic with details about the cars he has; Website is no better. I guess he sells the cars eventually.
  15. Here's a better angle so you can see the mirror better.
  16. I believe all USA '02s ('74, '75 & '76) had the BMW 2002/2002tii VIN plate. A '75 & '76 example below.
  17. Why the amber bulbs? Doesn't that defeat the idea of the Italians?
  18. From what I know (I think I know!), those style of flares indicate the Turbo was originally delivered to Japan.
  19. +1 Jean Paul. Those (most) of us that have been around here since the onset of the Faq understood this as a matter of decency, but, over time, things have changed here & not all for the better.
  20. click on "Technical Articles" then "Body and Interior" Several tips for Heater Box.
  21. It was on Ebay Mar '13 (North Stonington, CT) and reportedly sold for $6900. It looks like it has had a new nose and a repaint, but the mechanical goodies were on there then. There was no mention of the motor being a tii, and from what I can see it isn't (more knowledgeable will know). Rust (the famous "surface rust") was evident on the nose panel (changed?), bottom of doors and on rockers panels. The rear shock mounts looked good. Below are pics from that auction. HTH
