  1. I fitted one sedan seal in the Touring. Pics are not the best, but you can see that the top of the seal is just under 2" short, the lower portion is right around 7-5/8" short. I'll try next to piece in some pieces and see how it looks. (I'm away for a few days though) Like I mentioned in the earlier post, I cannot see why BMW let the Touring seals go NLA when all they had to do was make them a little longer and they would be good for both Touring & sedan.
  2. I can't see your pics either. Any road up........probably the float in the sender gets stuck half way down. The one in my Touring had been doing that, so I took it out. The bloody thing had all but fallen apart. The bottom screen had fallen off and this little assy keeps the guide post at the correct distance from the centre of the sender and thus allows the float to smoothly motor up and down. Without the screen assy, the guide post did not lie vertical and stopped the float as it lowered. As a side note, when taking my sender out of the tank, the outer tube then fell off. There was not much holding it to the top of the sender, so, it appears the bottom screen assy does most for keeping it all together. Not, it would seem, the greatest design.
  3. Not mine, no affil, etc etc. Given the price, thought someone might need. It's in South Florida. http://keys.craigslist.org/pts/5955831368.html
  4. MSRP on the '74-'76 one is $277. Probably why you still have 4 for sale.
  5. Yeah, they were in 5th gear at 20mph....AND...the car still pulled away!
  6. I was getting this for the past month or so, however, it seems better now with just an occasional one or two.
  7. Popular on Euro round taillight cars, but rare on square light Euro cars.
  8. According to the parts book...... #076 is shown as right mirror for Sweden only. Maybe because Sweden changed from driving on the left side of the road to the right.......but this happened in 1967!! #793 is shown as right mirror for RHD Euro #794 is shown as left mirror for LHD Euro & USA #529 is shown as left mirror for RHD Euro 793 & 794 is opposite to what your Seller's site says, but would be a pair. 529 is (probably) the same as 794 but given a different part# to suit RHD cars. JMHO.
  9. Oh! Well you won't need a car there......heheh Shipping will be cheaper from Linwar.
  10. FYI, unless you reside in the UK you will not pay the VAT. However, you may get hit by customs when they arrive in the US.
  11. I will, but it's going to be a while yet. Way to cold in my garage currently to work gluing seals in, and don't feel like trying to heat it's 900+ sq ft. Maybe March?
  12. You might want to re-title your post in order to get potential non-Touring Sellers to look. Only your 5 & 6 are specific to the Touring, and 5 is most definitely NLA from BMW. I've been searching for those (new) for over a year. You could get a pair for the sedan (still available) and graft on the extra length from your old ones, assuming they're not destroyed. Also add a description after the part numbers so people know what your looking for. Blunttech, for instance, will tell you what is still available and what is NLA. Good luck.
  13. This might help. Pics from when it was on Ebay in 2009......also had 30k km then.
  14. Been there, done that. W&N say they do not know if they will return. Last December (2015) the Trg seals were quoted at $50 each, but NLA. Now they are $60 and still NLA. So that's a 20% increase for an NLA part. I wonder if all BMW parts have increased that much in 12 months (the Euro to dollar rate is not to blame).
  15. The pictures are not current, they are the same ones the Seller used when it was on Ebay in April this year.
  16. My request for both left & right side seals failed. The supplier states that both sides are discontinued, so if you can get one side you've done well.
  17. For '70-'71 four blues were available according to info I have. Atlantik (paint code 041) Riviera (paint code 036) Baikal Metallic Nachtblau Metallic My vote is Riviera BUT wait until you hear from Germany. Just found this photo of your trunk when the car was for sale July 2014.
  18. Hey Martijn, I'm in the same boat as you. I scoured everywhere for a pair of Touring seals to no avail, so I bought a pair of sedan seals and measured against my old Touring seals they are 2.5" short at the top and the lower portion is 8" short (if the sedan Owners had to cut the seals to fit, why couldn't BMW have made them long enough for the Touring?) I intend to piece together (glue) the good part of my original seals to the new sedan ones. Should look ok when the window is closed, and hopefully not too bad when its open (the window never stays open anyway!). Haven't tried it yet as my car has only just returned from the body shop. Don't loose your B-pillar alloy trim pieces as they are long NLA too........ask me how I know. Well, that's just dandy. Just looked up on Maximillian's site, and both Touring rear vent window seals now show as available at $63.25 each. We will see after the Holidays.
  19. Gordon Bennett!! I now need 17 of these studs to fit my new bumpers. The bloody things are $13 each! I despair.
  20. Don't know Jim; I'm just quoting the parts book. My Nov '73 Touring had the clips plus the two studs, but the replacement centre bumper and RH corner bumper, have holes, not slots. Ok, as you were. My Oct '71 parts book shows 17 studs holding the rubber strip, so I guess BMW changed to the clips later. Now I wonder why my replacement bumpers have holes in them!
