  1. RHD '02s (like my Touring) have the same armrest both sides. Grace goes with symmetry!
  2. As far as I can tell, they did nothing. Maybe they washed it. I guess it is good they did not try and cover up the visible rust. Here's the current motoexotica Ebay listings;- http://www.ebay.com/itm/391579376857?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/232105350217?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/391585922162?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/232105381530?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  3. Correct. Rob had the car for about a year before this St. Louis outfit got it. This motoexotica is cornering the market in '02s......they have (& had) a few on Ebay currently.
  4. The original location of the single speaker was below the radio......however......you have A/C!
  5. An Internet search for BMW Paint Code 024, yielded the following for cross-reference Ditzler PPG 72047 Dupont 42646 Acme Rogers 91527 Martin Senour 21844 Sherwin Williams 6148
  6. No experience, but, looking at the BMW Blue Parts Book, the only differences are the Housing & the Worm.
  7. It's on Ebay too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331987840312?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The ad/write up, sounds like Dealer speak to me.
  8. Regarding Wipers/Wiper Arms for the Touring..........they are different! The Arms are longer as the front windshield is higher/taller. I think they are about 1" longer. Probably NLA, but here's the part #s for Model 71 (up to '73) DS 61 61 1 350 140 PS 61 61 1 350 139 The Wiper Blades are 16" long and the Model 71 Arms are stainless. '73-'74 (Model 73) Tourings had black Arms (probably the same at model 71 with a coat of black paint)
  9. Actually, they are easy to find. Around $80 each at your favourite parts supplier. part # 51 13 1 803 359 & 51 13 1 803 360
  10. Ok, everyone has an opinion, so here's mine. The Alpina invoice includes the cost of the car, so, it appears Alpina purchased the car from BMW, and it arrived at Alpina with tinted windows, sunroof, silver (Polaris) metallic paint, black standard upholstery and, maybe, the 5 speed; the extra cost of these items is shown They also paid the transportation from BMW Munich to their factory. The rest of the invoice covers the additional work done by Alpina.
  11. Steve, The weights are incorrect for a Touring. The weights on that "replacement" VIN plate are for a tii sedan. The 3 Touring weights are 1450, 700 & 780.
  12. It reportedly sold for $36,500 at the Bonham auction 3 years ago. With 6 days to go it could get above that.
  13. Steve, Info that I have.... Pre Model '71 2570001 - 2572069 (Jan '71 - Mar '71) Model '71 2572070 - 2593704 (Apr '71 - Aug '73) Thus Apr '71 was the start of most model '71s - USA & Euro cars
  14. FWIW - Hazard Switches - I looked into this a while back to get a "correct" replacement for my Touring part # 61 31 1 355 358 USA no resistor & Hazard script part # 61 31 1 356 193 USA with resistor & Hazard script part # 61 31 1 353 428 rest of the World (no resistor & no Hazard script) I believe the resistor arrived for the '74-'76 USA models, but have no clue what it does.
  15. Just to add to your confusion Rob......... 2762619 has the 2.5mph bumpers. It was restored in the '90s, so, the later bumper mounts may have been added???????
  16. The car is advertised currently in the BMW Car Club "Roundel" for $16,500 by it's Owner, Gerhard Fehrmann, San Dimas. If you could get a hold of him, he may agree to your price. Looks a decent car in the pics.
  17. Seems a container full of CA '02s & E21s have been transported to the Netherlands, where they are being offered at a pretty penny (Euro!) Open the link and scroll down. http://www.hofman.nl/aanbod/?merk=BMW
  18. 3 yrs ago it was in a Copart auction looking a little worse for wear. A few months later it received a new coat of paint and a good clean. Since then it seems to bounce around Dealers in AZ.
  19. I noticed that too........guess it could be just coincidence.
  20. Really???? For goodness sake. Try this one next time the sex pistols pretty vacant - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcauCclfytI
  21. Why Aye Man - Mark Knopfler. Pretty much sums up what was happening in the UK in the early '80s and why I was travelling in my '02 around Germany. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA1g33J5NjA
