  1. Here is where my 1802 badge is located. Not sure if the 2000s are in the same place. The only difference between a 2000 and 2002 touring is the badge. Didn't want to originally call it a 2003 (3 door hatchback) so settled on 2000 touring. Later changed the badge numbers to 2002. By the way, did you know that when the tii was first released, it was in the Touring?? And our round taillights are bigger than the standard "roundies", and carried throughout the model run up into 1974.
  2. Have not seen it mentioned yet, but did you check the "Idle cut-off solenoid" ?? Sometimes the wire comes off, and it really screws up the idle. It is designed to prevent "dieseling" when you turn off the car. It is screwed into the engine side of the carb and looks like this part circled in red in this diagram. Click on the diagram, it will get bigger. Good luck.
  3. e mail Chris at Only02 http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,profile/mode,viewprofile/u,731/ He is in Las Vegas, and might have some suggestions. Might be fun to visit his operation also. http://www.only02.com/
  4. Musta been hanging out with all those pretty 02s at SoCal vintage that inspired him. Inka???? Not likely. Hard to name an Inka car Bacchus. Maybe Julius?? No, that one has been taken. Delia still has rights to that name for a while.
  5. Look a lot like CJ's Rotas http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312856/
  6. Wow, and I thought my ball joint breaking was bad. Mine just pulled out of the lower control arm, but stayed attached to the steering arm which kept it from pulling as far back as yours did. Sorry, no advice for fender replacement. I just tweaked mine back and hit it with some touch-up paint. Still pretty scary to think about what would have happened if I was driving any faster, or on the freeway, or a mountain road. Reminder to all to check these things for safety reasons. My pics look good compared to yours..
  7. Good pics, Dave...Welcome to the board, although I guess you have been keeping up through Matt. I am honored to post the first reply...
  8. I've got a real problem with this one......off-road maybe??
  9. Can't help you on finding the roll bar, but it is my understanding, and should be confirmed visually, that the Touring is lower than the normal 02. (does that make us "abnormal")
  10. Great looking pics. Where was the show? Wish I could have been there to make it quadriplets. You would have made it perfect...next year. It was in Van Nuys (LA) near intersection of 101/405.
  11. might be helpful to keep all these together (compilation from General Discussion threads before they run off the bottom of the page) I will try to add as needed. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312585/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312588/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312633/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312647/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312645/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312638/ http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,312697/
  12. Very nice. It is pretty cool to see everyones different perspective on the event. And BTW Inka looks pretty clean even if it is dirty. Which is an unfair advantage to those who spend hours trying to get swirl marks out of their darker colors. Thats why we like it, more time to DRIVE. Good pics, thanks for sharing them.
  13. Thanks Jay, If I was sure you were coming, I wouldn't even bring a camera. Outstanding pics. I feel sorry for those guys who couldn't close their hoods and missed a great pic of their car....j/k Good seeing you again.
  14. Love you pics, Michael. Especially the Inka Triplets. Glad you got home safe, I hope your eye is better. Fun Rolling on 101 with you.
  15. Didn't look sorta like these guys did they?? They have been terrorizing all of California for the last four days.. Rusty red 02 is Tjones02, Silver/Black shark driven by Elvis impersonator is Norm. They were on their last lap after the SoCal Vintage BMW meet in LA Saturday. Spent the nite in SB. BMWs are in their blood...no Vettes.
  16. absolutely....perfect day, great weather, great cars Thank you Jeff, John and team...
  17. Those are outstanding pictures...you really captured the essence of the event. Thank you, I hope I met you sometime today. Talked to lots of people. here are a few of my photographic attempts.. jmon0261 and Norm's coupe after a drive up to Santa Barbara after the Show

  19. If this is Jon Nunez you are looking for. He has sorta dropped off the radar lately. Was talking about moving at one point in time. the last cell # I have ends in 2938. Is that the same one you have? I would think some of the "Turbo Guys" should have a lead on him. Best I can do, Good luck
  20. Maybe just a tad before 7 on the 101, what is your closest onramp? Email me from the FAQ we can exchange cell #s. As of now, there are 3 of us leaving SB around 6:15. Hope we can make a connection. Steve
  21. Anybody??? EVERYBODY!! This is a "Not to be missed" event. Over 100 cars, 02s, coupes, bavarias, etc. Turbos, Tourings, Cabriolets, Race cars, and even Paul Cain's one of a kind 3002 TTil twin turbo. Now I have to collect some bottles and aluminum cans and turn them in to see if I can get enough change to buy Dubois the bottle of wine I promised.....
  22. Yeah, bring the family....make sure you introduce yourself, although if you have a Mass. accent, we should figure it out. I shouldn't be too hard to find, only one inka touring entered so far...Hope you can make it.
  23. Tom, make sure all those guys have pre-registered, they are limiting the entrants to about 100, and there are already over 80 signed up. See ya there.
