  1. Is it actually "cooked" , or just frozen up. If just frozen....they can sometimes be unfrozen (thawed out??).
  2. Saw that last night. went by so fast, didn't get to see much. Have to look for it again.
  3. BMWNA is comparing the new 1 Series Coupe with the original 2002 in its website. Check it out...http://content.bmwusa.com/microsite/1series2008/indexflash.html?source=1SERIESFVVIS
  4. really sorry to see your car messed up. Glad you are fine.. Here are your pictures...
  5. I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob.
  6. very very happy for you. Life is just better with a touring at home....
  7. California car....Legal on the back, euro on the front. Not legal but looks good. Worth the 10 buck fine if anyone cares to write a "fix-it" ticket.
  8. Mine has: Handbrake on, Low Brake Fluid Function, Mech Choke activated, and low fuel light. (all on the same warning light) I have never seen low fuel yet although I know it is wired for it. Usually 10 gal fill ups. I know the Handbrake, choke and the low brake fluid function work. ( I use the brake and choke daily, and I have a slight fluid leak, probably clutch master) I would guess in your case, that the lo fuel wire might be grounding out on something. good luck,
  9. The back of my metal plate on the bottom turns down and almost closes the back of the small space below the speaker/radio. Because of the angle of the faceplate and the metal plate it creates a diminishing space as it goes forward(or back into the console). I put a small piece of black rubber mat in the bottom to keep things from sliding around in that space. I keep my MP3 player there. See my pic for details showing the angles involved. Good luck,
  10. Here is mine....original stock w/Blaupunkt Nurnberg radio Thumbnail makes the grille look distorted...click on it for big pic.
  11. New Bimmer Magazine This Month (Nov/07 just got it today in the mail) has a good article comparing the "old" 2002Tii with the "new" E92 335i coupe. My favorite line in the article was "The racing-style steering wheel's rim transmits every nuance of the road, encouraging us to push even harder, right up to the point where the tires begin to chirp in protest. Through it all, the 2002tii puts an absolutely stupid-looking grin on our faces." ... They got that right. Enjoy
  12. For that kind of money I would expect them to at least replace the padding in the back seat...It is a very pretty car though.
  13. Muchas Gracias......That is southern californian (or north mexico) for Thank you.. It looks like there is some kind of connection available for a cassette player. Have to figure out to hook up the Ipod through it. The FM transmitter thing just doesn't quite cut it.
  14. How about the info on the Nurnberg on this page?? Thanks....
  15. here are a few. Might have larger versions if necessary.
  16. Yeah, I find that strange....they always ask what year it is..I guess they really don't know what to say, just making conversation, but obviously appreciating the car. Of course, being INKA in a grey world makes you stand out.
  17. It is very nice....found my radio. Now, if I only knew French....
  18. I get at least one "thumbs-up" a day, but usually not from BMW's. This town is full of late model BMWs. When I see a M3 coming, I get ready for some recognition, only to find out it is being driven by some older woman, or a young college age pony-tail blond girl with a baseball hat on, talking on her cell phone, totally oblivious to anything going on around her. I go way back to the years when almost all BMW's waved at one another. Now, the only wave I get is from other 02's or an occasional MG or Alfa. Fortunately, we still have quite a few 02's around here. I see a couple a week.
  19. Known as the "Sport Package". Was offered from the factory for the Touring 2000tii and comprised "early" alloy wheels, scheel front seats and sport steering wheel (not sure if anything else was included, like LSD?). I do not believe the saloon versions were offered with the "Sport Package", but all could be bought as accessories. I believe that they also included driving lights and US type "bubble" turn indicators. (they thought they were special, like we think Euro lights are special) I think Tsteph12's touring is a "sportpaket" Here is a link to another sportpakethttp://www.2002haus.com/tiitouring3420207.htm
  20. That is "Good News", Rob. It has been a long hard journey. Answered prayers...Would love to hear the details. E-mail me.
  21. Needs to lower the front end a little though. Was that a Becker or Blaupunkt? There is another Bavaria that shows up in a lot of the shots. Good shots of many cars of the 70's.
  22. yep, just had a good car chase w/ the 02 winning....
  23. Bring the Wife and the Touring, come early and hang out in Santa Barbara for a while. We can hit Newport Beach visit Paul Cain and the other SoCal people and do "Cars and Coffee". Of course we could do that any weekend. Glad you had a good visit to the "Left Coast".
