  1. Boy, that takes me waaaaay back. I can almost smell it and hear it. Really nice, used to waterski behind one of those. More years ago than I want to admit. You guys got a "touring"?? As in '02 touring??
  2. It is even more specific that that....It says "New TOPIC" BTW Still trying to find that "appealing car" with the sunroof...
  3. Very nice write-up, Delia. I will have to make it a priority to join the "Inka Parade" next year. We will have to make it an '02 invasion...
  4. Michael is right. I found this under the Roundel on the hatch of the Touring. It is quite cool...
  5. It is even worse being just 4 1/2 hours away and having to do chores....It is a fun road.
  6. I always thought this would be a good place to start. http://www.02again.com/product_info.php?products_id=153 He is on the FAQ and I have heard great things about his work.
  7. 76-2002 original owner, old daily driver.....74 1802 Touring NEW daily driver for the past year. Driven every day, rain or shine. approx 300 miles per month. Made trips up and down California. 17mpg town/23 mpg road. Do most of the little stuff myself. Hasn't needed much. Just a blast every day.
  8. Next year Bill, we will have to put all the Tourings together..
  9. If you are ever in Southern California on the Weekend, you MUST check out Cars & Coffee in Irvine on every Saturday Morning 7 - 9 am (except this weekend, because of Monterey) It is the most unbelievable collection of cars showing up each weekend, not some annual show, and it is different each weekend. Classics, exotics, foreign, hot rods, one of a kinds, etc. I am sure many of them will actually be at Pebble Beach. If you are a "car guy" or gal you can't miss it. Check out this link to some pics of the weekend I was there: http://public.fotki.com/wackydave/cruise_nights/cruise-nights-2007/07-14-07-cars--coffee/ It is a pretty cool site for lots of other car pics, too.
  10. Very nice write-up, Michael. Now I have to go and adjust my hood correctly. Got some info on getting the doors right?? Mine need a little "tweaking". It is my understanding that the Gap between the hood and front of door is a little larger than the gap between the front fender and the front of the door. (like the gap at the trunk) Is this true?? If so, maybe you could add a reference to that in the article. Otherwise, a very concise and complete article.
  11. Don't mean to interrupt the love fest, but it is even better without the pole in the background. Took the lines out of the parking lot too.. Not as clean as Bingbong's work, but adequate.. enjoy..
  12. Welcome to the crazyness...where are you located??
  13. here are a bunch (front and back) from our Hwy 33 drive last October Thumbnails...just click for bigger pics..
  14. That's what I figured...thanks for sharing the pics, looked like a great day. It is always a great day when you can "hang" with other '02 nuts.
  15. Now that is just mean....posting pics of your friends at a party you weren't invited to....J/K When did this happen? Obviously just a private gathering of good 02 friends. I just won't show these pics to my Touring, it would only get depressed knowing it wasn't there.
  16. For the Dubois BBQ on friday nite, everyone should be "Bearing Weinies" instead of "Wearing Beanies"..
  17. New "Bimmer" magazine (October 2007) has a 1967-76 BMW market update. Which includes information on the coupes. May be some help. Interesting 02 information too..
  18. How about some tasteful Gold "Mango" shorts?? Like Chris Kattan (Mango) wore on Saturday Nite Live.
  19. Would that be a MPH or a KPH Speedo?? You know that this post will show up on every search for info on Speedo's...
  20. I know this may sound too simple...but whenever all that stuff on my 76 stopped working it was always the fuse. Usually didn't blow, just needed to be "spun" in its holder or cleaned. It has something to do with that circuit I am sure. Fuse #12, unless it is older then usually #11. The Tach needs power in addition to a signal from the coil to work. Good luck,
  21. The wire you need should be there, you just have to dig around for it. It is the only black wire that fits "Napes" description. Probably tucked back or taped back on the cluster of wires near the hole closer to the center of the car. I know....I added the tach to my touring. It was right there where they hid it when the built it. (it is part of the wiring loom) I "stole" the tach from my 76, so I had everything necessary to make the swap. Good luck, It is pretty cool when you start it up and it all works.
  22. Daily driver in the Touring. 14,000KM last year (8,750 miles) Loved every mile of it. 76 feeling very neglected. No miles last year.
  23. Now I gotta go home and check the mailbox. Unless my wife hid it until I manage to check off some of those jobs on the "honey-do" list.
  24. Ditto on those...very exciting trying to drive when those let go..unless you have LSD you won't go anywhere. Fortunately I could coast to my mechanics shop. Sorta like a Space Shuttle landing...only one run at it. Double check the Ball Joints when you are under the car. You don't want this to happen, believe me..
