  1. Looks like you were having as much fun as we were here in California. Beautiful car...Does the Tach not work, or were you coasting at 80 with the engine shut down?? It would be fun to take a couple of months and drive all over the US in a 02.
  2. Glad to see you got back home. Felt a little bad just leaving you in Ojai. So it was the alternator or dead battery? Remember, I asked if it had been charging?? Glad you came, that car will be awesome when you get it finished. Squeezing 6 cylinders into an 02 always requires some sorting out.
  3. Here is the single barrel I just got, and the Feds didn't even get to molest this one. It is a sheer pleasure to drive.
  4. enjoy http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/alamarlab/pumpkin%20run/ Thumbnails of all attendees..click to enlarge
  5. Thanks, Pierre...what a great day. Here are a few pics plus a link to all of them. Here is a link to all the pics. http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/alamarlab/pumpkin%20run/ First leg. 2nd leg with evidence of "bird Kill" Turn around spot, with some shots of "Day Fire" burn And Back, with only one breakdown
  6. My Pumpkin is washed, gassed up, and waiting for the dawn. Gonna be fun...
  7. Michael, I love the battery strap on the car in your picture. I bet that is one of a kind...very rare for sure
  8. Sorry we won't get to see you, Jon. Good luck on the test.. I have a burning question....Did my Ronals come off your Tii Touring before they cleaned it up, or were they another set? Can't tell if you have a different kind of Ronals now.
  9. Just a bump to remind SoCal 02ers. Great event, make it a priority. Here are some pics from last year's drive... http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/alamarlab/hwy%2033/?action=view&current=1161386347.pbw See you all Sunday
  10. Sorry, no I didn't weigh them. Didn't think about it. I bet some of these guys that posted to this thread have some in their garage without tires on them. How about it guys, drag one up to the bathroom scale for Ray.
  11. Didn't get any with my wheels. (from a previous post) LUG NUTS..These wheels require a different type of lugnuts than the tapered stock ones. After polling you guys, searching the internet, and dropping in on a couple tire stores, I found just what I needed at the local NAPA store right across the street. They are 12 x 1.5 (thread) "Mag-type" Short (part #735-2555) 4 to a box @ $9.67. Then, over to COSTCO where the swapped and balanced all of them for $10 per wheel.
  12. Keep me in mind, sounds like a great idea, Cambria is a fun place to weekend, spouses included.
  13. Thanks Guys.. Finally got to see them in the daylight this morning. They are really, really "purdy", and the brake drum not as noticeable, but still on my "to-do" list. They do "finish" the car. Now where did I see those driving lights? Summary of what I did: (I could of done better, but I am impatient) 1. Scrubbed the "heck" out of them. 2. Hit them with a green "Scotch" abrasive pad. 3. Sprayed with Krylon Dull Aluminum (2 cans total) 4. Finished with Krylon clear gloss (3 - 4 coats) You can spend a lot more time on each step if you want, but I don't have that much time and would rather drive the car than dink around with it. Now I need to get some work done instead of staring out the window admiring my car.
  14. You are right, I noticed that right away. Couldn't see them through the other wheels. I think the flash makes it more noticeable. Do they need high temp paint or will any paint do? I think I need to do the rusty part of the fronts too. And Craig....I know that you are charitible enough that you would "allow" them to ride on your car, no matter how "crappy" they look. Sorry, no way.. Here are a couple of wheels about your speed....j/k See ya on Highway 33
  15. Finished cleaning and painting the Ronal wheels. Found proper lug nuts. Little apprehensive about how they would look on the car, but that was unnecessary. They look great, much improvement. Before cleaning and painting After cleaning and painting Before (with the steel wheels) Before (with the 100+ wheels) After ( with the Ronals) Through fooling around....I am happy with it now. Now for the risky part.....What do you think? I know you won't hesitate to tell me.
  16. ooooooh...."Touringasms". Having the Ronals put on mine as I type this... Click here for images of last year Hwy 33
  17. Great, Steve - can't wait to see the touring! Now we need to convince Jon Nunez to join the "Pumpkin Reunion" and bring his new inka Touring tii. (the only reason he gave up the 1802) Here is a pic when his got off the boat...
  18. This Pumpkin is going... Anyone else around SB or north, we can run to Ojai together.
  19. What a waste, left to rot in a hot container...these cars need to be Driven. Not much premium in low miles if you have to replace everything anyway. High miles means someone had many hours of fun and driving pleasure, and the car is usually better because of it. My "new" 74 touring has 175,000 km. and is still as tight as a new car. Glad the previous owner enjoyed it, took good care of it, and didn't keep it on the shelf. Gordon, are you coming down to drive Highway 33 with us??
  20. probably got it figured out...but for what it's worth. here are pics of my 76.
  21. Here are photos of mine (74 Touring) if it still helps...(best my cell phone can do) 1st pic is label from the inside. 2nd pic from outside Flush with the top and 6 1/2 inches in. (that is a 6 1/2 inch ruler in the pic)
  22. Bill, On my 74 Touring, the sticker is flush with the top windshield gasket, and the lower right corner (from the outside) is 6 1/2 inches from the right gasket. I will post a pic when I get a chance.. Good luck,
  23. classic scam.. If you have time, read this http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/class/scam/ very entertaining how to scam the scammer. enjoy
  24. Had to use my vote for the wheels, but Gordon is a bad influence..... guess what I voted for.....my project here are some Ronals like those
  25. e-mail sent.. here is your cover pictures...j/k
