  1. If she was driving an 02 it would have to be pink. You think she was scary back then, I had a close encounter a couple of months ago. Had to hide her face behind her magazine.
  2. get a free account at Photobucket,http://www.photobucket.com upload the pics there. They have some editing options that will automatically resize the pics to fit here. They even have a avatar size.
  3. putting serious thought into bring a "pumpkin" touring. anyone else?? last Thanksgiving. in Lockwood Valley (where the fire was)
  4. Nick, you should find some weber info at this site...http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/Table_of_contents.htm good luck, P.S. you should plan on going on "Pierre's" Trick or Treat Drive, they are a blast.
  5. Earlier this week on chat you were looking for info on gas tank filler connections. these are pics of my california 76 2002. Couldn't find your e-mail. so posting.. Hope this helps. If not, let this thread die a quick death down the page..
  6. I think it is a left hand drive thing, Les. the sandwich trick is the right way, I just went out and looked. washers and nuts on the inside.
  7. looks like speed clip nuts which explains the large holes, with sheetmetal screws...
  8. Photobucket will now resize to Avatar size for you. Your pic will be permanently resized so you might want to upload two of them if you want one to be regular sized. My avatar was done through photobucket and I just linked to its URL through the profile section. original size resized, through photobucket edit section, to avatar size.
  9. Thanks for the input guys. how do you think those wheels will look on this?.
  10. Have factory 74 locking cap w/thin cover. German "HK" key with C8 stamped on other side. Pretty poor pic of cap here good luck
  11. Replacing the broken Roundel on the back of my touring. When I got the old one off, I found this under it. Someone....the original assembler, painter, maybe some other painter or mechanic, has signed and dated my touring. Can't quite figure out the date, whether it is the assembly date 73?, repaint date 93 or 03? I don't know. But it is really cool to find out that someone was proud enough of their work to sign it. Anyone else ever find something like this??
  12. I have 4 of these Ronal wheels that I am cleaning up. It appears that the holes for the lug nuts are larger than on my other wheels and there is no tapered seat. So I am assuming that they require a different type of lugnut. If that is true...What kind do I get?? Thanks in advance for your advice..
  13. Impossible to go back to black/yellow plates. I was able to go switch from New to Blue on my Touring because I still had the plates I switched from a car I previously owned 7 years ago, but kept the rights to the personalized Blue plate. (By the way, "74 INKA" has been released and is now available in California.) Before After For "show purposes"(not legal), there are companies that reproduce plates, but will not allow California plates to be shipped to addresses in California.
  14. That's a bummer...Just when I really need my fall 02 get together fix. Anyone else interested in a Southern or central California informal gathering. I know some of you went to Craig's, but others couldn't make it. What do you think of a mid-October mini-fest and maybe drive. Santa Barbara? Ventura? Camarillo? Pasadena? Orange County? Just food for thought. It is always great to see others 02's. Any thoughts? Thumbs up, thumbs down. Too busy? forget it? Lets start a conversation. My touring is begging to go somewhere....of course my wife has a "honey-do" list as long as my arm. Chime in with ideas.
  15. Did you move the mounting holes inboard? or did the come that way?? I had to get creative with mounting my plates on the Euro bracket holes. I am using a plate that has been on at least 3 other cars the last 30 years so it's vintage matches the car. The new California plates are white. The last car it was on was totalled in front of my house in 2000, so it's happy to be on the road again. I have a Dental Laboratory where I create teeth out of wax before casting them in gold....thus 2THWAXR..(toothwaxer)
  16. I guess we will have to start a "mutual touring admiration society", they are all beautiful, even Les's with that hard to achieve "patina". I am VIN 3410837
  17. That's great, it is amazing how these cars seem to fix themselves if we wait long enough. Don't you just "love" Tourings...
  18. I know....all the smoke and ash from that fire blew all the way to Santa Barbara Saturday nite and covered everything with grey ash, and a spooky orange glow from the sun. Now I have to wash all the cars, but it is still all over here on Monday. Of course, the orange glow goes well with Inka..
  19. beautiful car, Josh. Nice to see it back on the road. There is nothing better that an Inka Touring. (of course, I am a little biased) Nice job.
  20. great pics, Pedro. Sorry I missed it. Have to make it next time. Was that a picture of the wildfire near Castaic at the end?
  21. Mikeobad from Citrus Heights was the 2002nd member. Kayakboy was 1996 arrange the memberlist by date joined and see. I am number 24
  22. posting twice isn't the same as posting faster....j/k Thanks for the E-mail notification. Some of these guys, like Jon74Tii, Ponyboy, VillanuevasBMW, aren't on the list and it sounds like they want to be. Check with Pierre and see if we can develop an up to date e-mail list. Yes, I want to be on it, sorry I missed it, but family has priority. I have some SoCal e-mail addresses I collected at Bimmerfest this year, that might expand the list. Who did attend? I recognize most of them from the pictures. Thanks to you, Craig and Pierre for making it happen. I will try to make the next one. My touring is begging for a road trip. Or, if you want to plan something up Santa Barbara way, let me know, I will help.
  23. ditto.. happened to me about a year ago. pretty simple fix..just replace the bolts or retighten them. Hope that is it. Cheaper than all the other possibilities.
  24. That was all I knew as well. Well, that's a real bummer. I guess we will just have to crash the party, or have our own. It has to be pretty small, or maybe my invitation just got lost in the mail... Rob has every right to take a year off if he wants. It is a big, generally thankless job putting on these events, and he has been doing it for a long time.
