See why California is 02 heaven. Quien Sabe step aside, Highway 33 is here..
“Turkey Run II” was a great way to spend the Sunday morning after Thanksgiving.
Spectacular California weather and roads. Sea level to 5100 foot elevation changes. Long straight sections, lots of twisties, even water crossings. Five 02s, a Mini Cooper, Saab, M-Coupe, and a 5-series touring.

My trip started before dawn in Santa Barbara with a needed “jumpstart” from Starbucks.
Heading down the coast from Santa Barbara to Ojai experiencing a Pacific Ocean sunrise.
Meeting up in Ojai with Pierre and his group who drove up from the LA area.
Heading up the beautiful Highway 33.
First stop to let the casual drivers catch up with the speed demons, before we go up Lockwood Canyon.
This is the kind of sign we like to see on the road. Hmmm??? Maybe I can make it at 40.
Last stop before some head back LA on I-5, while the rest of us turn around and do it all over again.
The '02 contingent
You can see why we don’t do this when it might be raining. One of a couple of water crossings.
Pierre at speed
Daves '02 in its element. This is what these cars were built to do. What a great time!
Thanks, Pierre for a fun highway experience. Everyone else in Southern California, don't miss the next Highway 33 run..
