  1. Sweet Car--where can we learn more about it? Photos? Congrats! Ben

  3. If you want "authentic" size, get these Vredesteins in 165/13, they look the part and won't break the bank: http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20TIRES/Vredestein/vred_sprint.htm
  4. There are a few of us 02 screwballs down I-65 here in Indianapolis. Also consider joining The Hoosier BMW Car Club (via BMWCCA) for discounts at DeFouw BMW in your area. www.hoosierbmw.com Welcome! Ben
  5. Mine broke last summer and I blocked it with two wooden supports, got me thru two car shows--got the new regulator from dealer, just need to install it over winter slumber. If you are unable to track down used, the new part is available from the usual places, less than $100 IIRC.
  6. Merry Christmahanakwanza! to you and yours, [[and by yours I mean your BMW]]
  7. A Few More Pics, this set is for my 68 resto:
  8. Aggh forgot about those. Second in line for small front bumperettes please Ben
  9. FADI has sold some treasures...lots of early bumper sets, not NOS packaging from what I can tell, hard to say. The NOS set I have on hand has orange BMW stickers, not purchased from this seller, has more of a textured look on the lower portion of the chrome and the insides are painted with thick tan paint.
  10. Very interested in hood belt line trim if it is embossed. Thank you, Ben
  11. I've never had this problem either Esty. I didn't make any changes to my gmail preferences, it just started yesterday. Try to send me a test email with the button and see what happens? Ben
  12. I use Gmail for personal correspondence (sorry USPS) and recently discovered that messages delivered from the FAQ email button, (or those that I send to others and get auto-copied on) are going right into my spam folder and/or being labeled with this: "This message was likely forged and did not originate from your account" I don't know if this is related to the recent FAQ maintenance or Gmail upping the level of spam avoidance, but if you send somthing to another FAQer and don't get a reply, this is the likely culprit.
  13. How much for one of your extras? Super cool. Ben
  14. These are certainly not the quality of the Hellas, but at 38.96 a set -- the price is right! I've purchased some things from this vendor before and had a nice experience. http://www.eagleeyelights.com
  15. One of the judges was convinced that both front fenders on my car had been replaced because there was no upper seam where they join the nose panel. At that point I assumed he had never seen an unrestored 2002 so I suggested that he take a walk down and look at your car, he did and returned to report that I was right!
  16. Take a look at this site for the exact Revs Per Mile, etc. http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
  17. He's buying a 74tii -- Don't buy this one, its only one book and doesn't have the tii info that is included in the later 2 band books. (I have both)
  18. I'd consider adding lighting and raising it about 4 inches before driving/turning/braking.
  19. Blue Binders are awesome, the later ones are needed for a tii. Also get a Haynes as it assumes you are not a factory trained mechanic. The more manuals, the better! There is a free/large download online somewhere of the Factory binders for your computer, I have a 2 band set set I would sell for your garage if you want to go that route.
  20. I recently acquired a set of very delicate anodized aluminum trim rings (#8 below) and installed them on my steelies with an existing set of Dog Dish hubcaps I had on hand. I really like the classic look (now and then) but I don't know if these were ever shipped new on early 1600s or if they were just a dealer accessory. The early 2002 uses a similar cap and ring configuration, but the cap is frosted silver, doesn't have the ring around the emblem and the rings have oval cutouts with frosted sections over anodized aluminum. I know these are technically incorrect for my 71, but at what point did BMW switch over to full chrome wheelcovers on the 1600s? I seem to remember a smurf blue 1600 in Canada for sale a few years ago that had these, but I can't find any pictures.
