  1. I'll give you a gazillion dollars for them. I guess you can put me in line if the others fall thru. Ben
  2. I ran 170s for awhile-- they are a scosh too short I believe..? The 185 is the closest in height to the true 165R13. I've been thinking about the Vred for my alloys, I run 185 now and love them. Depends on what you like. Goldielocks picked the 185/70/13. Ben
  3. Do you have the VIN? I suspect that it's a 1602. It has miss-matched grills and I don't think I see a day/night switch on the mirror, so it looks like a 1602 to me. Strange side mirror too. It will have a longneck diff making a 5 speed swap more complicated. Also single line brakes and terrible seatbelts. Having been squished in a similar car, I'd steer him to a squaretail if this will be a daily driver in LA. Ben
  4. I looked at all my options and used this stuff on my 91 Dodge Ram. It goes on very easy, I used my feet in socks to press it smooth--it is thinner than the sample of Dynamat I had on hand. I did tape up the seams with HVAC aluminum tape. On the floor pan section, I used a layer of Refletix bubble insulation on top (lowes) I taped these seams too. I topped it off with a nice carpet salvaged from a junkyard truck ($9). it worked well for my pickup, and should work for 02s but much of the hype says to avoid it and use a butyl based product. Also, pros will say that these products are trying to do heat and sound, and they don't always work for both. (translation, Dynamating the entire cabin doesn't over help) Ben
  5. Waking up before you and posting a reply first doesn't necessarily make me a Jerk does it? Jerk: a : an annoyingly stupid or foolish person b : an unlikable person; especially : one who is cruel, rude, or small-minded Ben
  6. rockauto.com has it on special for just $18.34. The to your door price was about $21.50. Part arrived in an aftermarket box but was a genuine BMW part with Roundel, made in Germany. Manufacturer: BECK/ARNLEY Part No: 2030032 Notes: [Flasher]; Original Equipment Type; http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclefeeds.php?carcode=1010787&m=wc&l=en&html=true
  7. No Idea--they look a little off, like the offset is not spot on for an 02.
  8. Happy Birthday and Congrats - now someone send him a kidney (grille)
  9. Max, are these really $10.52 a pop? SPARK PLUG - BOSCH W8DC -- 12 12 1 276 283 == $10.52
  10. We need to see pictures. "90% restored" can mean just about anything, by who and with what? You can hardly buy all new MobileTradition brightwork for an 02 for $2,500 - so this asking price really sounds like a tired old BMW with lots of bondo and a backyard sprayjob. (not that there is anything wrong with this) Overcarbed means that he installed a giant carb that feeds too much fuel into a stock engine--it probably looks nice, but doesn't do anything for power or fuel economy. Post pictures and as much info as you can find and the FAQ team can help you determine value. -B

  12. NM/NA: 1968 BMW 1600 (Springfield) Date: 2011-06-22, 1:32PM PDT Reply to: sale-fgnxz-2456414210@craigslist.org I have a 1968 bmw 1600 with 140,000 original miles just testing the waters make me an offer i can not refuse. I love this old car. call billy at 541-606-4318 do not email
  13. The original wheel color on a 68 was likely 057 Polaris but this was changed out to 090 Polaris neu due to issue with the paint yellowing, if I remember the legend correctly. As others have said, you can finish them in a variety of ways. I chose to have my set sandblasted, etch primed, painted with 090 Polaris and top coated flat clear for protection. (example below) This and everything below and in between is OK--the all Chamonix wheels was probably just the POs preference, I'd go back to Polaris if it were my car. -Ben
  14. {{{{SOLD}}}}: Early tii Manifold --->$125 SHIPPED<---
  15. The paper in the manual is A4 sized and the body diagram page is even bigger. As a result, it is not very easy to scan. I can take a large picture of it for you and maybe you can crop and zoom, etc. send me a message via FAQ email and I can hook you up. -Ben
  16. As far as the stance is concerned....I think you are nearly spot on. If anything, maybe drop the front a scoch--you don't want to end up with a saggy butt. - What are you currently using? Come On Phil - ! You're killing me! I recently found a pair of stray 5.5" from one of our famous FAQ brethren and now I have a full set of 5 to refinish. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about refinishing them, but the "Jack, mount, start, fist gear, scuff" method sounds more and more appealing every day. Ahhh, Cosmics. Long live the 13" tire. =Ben
  17. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/content/view/15/32/ Your manifold studs will probably come out when you remove the bolts--I just got new ones from the dealer, zinc on intake side, steel on the exhaust side.
  18. I just picked up a set of BOSCH W8DC - NOS Plugs on eBay and had a good experience with the seller. I bought 8 and the shipping was $5. No need to mess around with modern Bosch part number changes or third world manufacturing issues--these are made in the motherland and stamped W8DC. When I opened the first box, it smelled like Germany inside. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160540673247 I don't know this person, but if you are looking for W8DC, you can't go wrong here.
  19. I'm crying for you, but not as much when I took this royal pounding back in 2008---the second picture is how it looks now, work in progress:
  20. +1 On KC Donahue - He helped me out with a H20 pump several years ago - I still owe you KC! (Seriously KC, I'd be happy to send you something, just name it!) -Ben
