  1. Good to see that TS now stocks the "lady" variety. Nobody likes a stinky euro fanny. -Ben
  2. KFunk: I think the final day for the 2.50 VR1 sale at Autozone is today. If you don't have another Autozone nearby, you might see if one of their competitors will honor the price--you might need to bring in the ad or show your receipt from the two quarts you did purchase. I did an oil service on my brother-in-law's high mileage E36 last week and used the Kendall oil you described. Looked like regular oil to me and the price was right. Good luck!
  3. Absolutley Frigging Wonderful Car. Stay Safe!
  4. WTB: Good original condition or blasted and restored, let me know what you have. Thank you, Ben
  5. Interesting...I've only had early cars, but the recognition starting in 1975 may tie into the year BMW of North America was established.
  6. Bracohen, nobody will bark at you about the VIN - RealOem or the various other parts lookup sites do not recognize our old VINs, only the last 7 of a modern 17 digit Vin. FYI - I have a new "older" stock early gas tank and I'm looking to even trade for a new squaretail gastank if anyone has a spare: (03/1966 to 04/1971) 16 11 1 107 663 -OR- if your tank is non returnable, cut me a cash deal.
  7. These are probably from a Opel GT since they have the center caps (these usually had trim rings too) Not a bad value if they are usable without straightening -- they have clips riveted to them to hold the caps, BTW. I also have a set from of true Kadett Rallye for sale, here on the FAQ: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/p,819959/ =Ben
  8. #19 below--Pop them in place, melt the tabs on the back with a lighter till they start to bubble then smoosh flat with a screwdriver blade. Look perfect, although do not say Hella on them anymore (at least not on the set I bought a few years ago) REFLECTOR LEFT = 51 13 5 480 106 REFLECTOR RIGHT = 51 13 5 480 107
  9. I know that JackF in Westborough MA has one he pulled years ago from a factory rebuilt engine at 300 miles. So, doesn't specifically meet your virgin criteria, but he is close.

  11. I'm looking for an original finish dark gray Single Barrel Air Cleaner assembly in Very Good+ Condition suitable for a 69-71 1600/2002 No rust or repaints, I'm looking for originality and light patina is OK, anyone have a suburb "old take off" item lingering on the top shelf? Please contact me with info/pictures/price with the FAQ email button above or direct at: mobiletradition | gmail Thank you, Ben
  12. Without pictures, $500-$2,000. Keep in mind, paint, interior and engine work added up will make an affordable car now very expensive one over time. Take lots of detailed pictures and post them here, get brutally honest feedback from our resident experts then make an offer. The most important thing on this car is the body--if it is straight and clean, the other problems are worth solving. If it ends up being a parts car, it might be best to pass on this one. -B
  13. http://bringatrailer.com/2011/03/20/bat-exclusive-1973-bmw-2002-faux-alpina-a4-touring/ Looks like he pulled the BATrigger: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,355152/
  14. Hi Thanks for your reply, my email address is mobiletradition at Gmail.com I just have it separated out like this to avoid spambots grabbing my full email address and cyberspamming me! I saw one of your older posts about trying to find centercaps for Western Wheel minilite style wheels, I'm looking for the same thing and wondered if you found anything that would work. You can also click the email button next to my username above and send me a message through the FAQ. Thanks for any info you can provide. Ben
  15. Mr. Neal is a super cool guy - for anyone interested in going racing on a budget, I'd encourage you to give him a call. -=Ben
  16. I carry one of these to hopefully avoid a big fire and the white powder mess; on sale at www.4wheelparts.com for $120: HalGuard is no ordinary fire extinguisher. It contains an electrically non-conductive"clean" extinguishing agent that rapidly turns into a gas. The clean agent used in HalGuard has passed extensive testing by Underwriters Laboratories, and meets FAA requirements. It can be found on commercial aircraft, and is used by airport fire fighters and on the flight line. Hand held HalGuard extinguishers are available in either compact 1.4 lb. and 2.5 lb. sizes, or larger 5 lb., 11 lb., and 15.5 lb. units. The larger sizes are USCG approved, and meet DOT requirements for the heavy duty truck market. 65 lb., and 150 lb. wheeled HalGuard extinguishers offer maximum clean agent protection for the pit lane or large facilities.
  17. If you have a harbor freight tools nearby, try these--I just picked up an amber set for my 73 F100 truck, cant beat the price: http://www.harborfreight.com/clear-lens-halogen-lights-37349.html

  19. Oh, uh, yeah...thanks! Now I see that when you select "search for all terms button" it lowers the results from 712 to 18! Not sure why I didn't think of that?
  20. I did some searching on mild swaybar upgrades and saw that Hardy & Beck offered a 19mm front and rear kit back in "the day" - Does anyone offer a similar setup now? I'd like to upgrade the stock bars on my 68 when I switch to HDs (and possibly IE stage 1 springs) but I'm not looking for a fluorescent cow catcher 22mm bar. What are the pros/cons to seeking out a 19mm front and leaving the back bar stock (15mm?) And BTW, it is very hard to run a FAQ search that contains numbers, I tried.
  21. Those are beauties for sure. I'd be inclined to get a used set and only put these on for Sunday services. Or better yet, sell them and buy something awesome with the cash, such as 150 litres of Spaten.
