  1. Hey 02for2, where are you with the Roundie Prototypes? Pricing? -=Ben
  2. BMW Classic is making them again...got mine at the dealer for about $25-$30 (I think) They are beautiful and come in a little box wrapped in tissue. You won't be sorry. Ben
  3. Howdy--yes, please check and see what you have. I only have three wheels so I'm looking for another wheel and some extra caps. Thanks! Ben
  4. I'm looking for single or multiple COSMIC wheels in refurbishable condition to complete a set. No cracks or crazy bends please, straightening costs $75 a pop so please keep this in mind when establishing an asking price. Center Caps are also needed, please let me know what you have. Fedex pickup is possible if you box and leave on your porch. Thank you, -=Ben mobiletradition at gmail EXAMPLE
  5. Contact Neal Cook to see if he still has his cool 67 1600 racecar for sale: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,342578/highlight,bmwgp32+webtv/
  6. Yes, the same tank I've inquired about several times--is it for sale again?
  7. If this is what you need: $30 Shipped - mobiletradition at gmail
  8. ..you know, I bet the old rusted out muffler you removed fit reasonably well and sounded almost as pleasant. I had a BMW branded Boysen muffler installed on my roundie last fall. It fits well and sounds like a muffler should....quiet! That's it...I've officially turned into my father. -Ben
  9. If you want to paint them and not use spray cans use 060 = BMW Polaris Silver Metallic -=Ben
  10. Did you have any luck with the seller...this is a seriously cool car for $500.
  11. Nice car....just the way I like 'em--totally not effed with! Somebody buy this thing and love it! -B

  14. OOU OOU -- Maybe I can buy the engine, I missed my chance on it a few years ago when it lived in Indianapolis. If you do part it, keep me in mind for the entire drivetrain including subframes. -Ben
  15. 71 1600, 6 Fuse Box At some point during Vintage at the Vineyards weekend, I noticed that my hazard lights were not working. All other lights, signals, gizmos and do-dads function normally, all fuses are fine. I also swapped out the relay from my 68 and tried a different hazard switch and still nothing. Confirmed power to relay with test light. I'm not very handy with electrical. Am I missing something obvious? If I had a bad ground somewhere I would think something else would also stop functioning. I added an alternate ground wire to the hazard switch, didn't help. Test light touching center terminal of relay, bulb illuminates, touching one of the sides, test light flashes. With hazard switch in the on position, this cannot be duplicated. Thanks for any advice you can provide. As a possible short term work around, what is the hand signal for "Hazard?" -=Ben
  16. Mine are made by Lemmerz but stamped 12/67 OPEL and are also just 5x13 -- it seems that the Opel design first used on the Rallye and later with riveted on clips and huge plastic centercaps and trim rings on GTs was an interesting enough of a design that it was "replicated" for other applications!
  17. Thanks--I love them too! My Wheels are stamped 12/67, Opel Kadet Rallye. When I had them blasted for refinishing, they were chrome underneath several layers of paint and look just like these:

  21. You know, this happens quite a bit to many an older gal that's been around the block a few times. With the proper support, you'll be amazed at how perky they really can be. -=Ben
  22. Holy Shnikes! I'm sorry to see this. "Possibly" a front bumper would have kept it from bashing in the snout, who knows. Makes me cringe, but I've also had to watch my 68 be winched onto a flatbed when the back end was destroyed by a Chrysler 300. My Mother-in-laws Z3 had to be towed in recently and I ordered a flat bed, installed the recovery hook in the front bumper, and stopped the driver from using hooks/chains on the rear suspension. I insisted that it was too delicate and he needed to use wheel straps, guess what, he had wheel straps, just too lazy to use them. Keep us posted on the rejuvenation and sorry about your luck. -=Ben
  23. I just removed a 43,ooo mile 4.11:1 from my 71 1600 but I was planning to hang on to it. I would sell it for the right price, but I can't give it away. I'm trying out a 3.64:1 in my car right now and it seems to help with highway cruising, but I run out of puff on long inclines. -=Ben
  24. I had my factory alloys blasted with aluminum oxide (I think) and then painted with a self etch primer and painted a current spec Mercedes wheel silver then topcoated with a very dull clear. I'm very happy with the results. I'd find a reputable blasting shop who is capable on not destroying your wheels with too harsh an abrasive. Also check them for trueness and have any straightening done before they are refinished. Good score, let us know what you end up doing and post some pics! -=Ben
