  1. What are you looking to spend? I'm open to offers or my rear bumperset is is in "poorer" condition -- I'll sell them both to you for $150 +shipping. Let me know.
  2. I have a front for sale, shipping would be about $20 Fedex, price is OBO http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/p,668203/highlight,/#668203 Ben mobiletradition at gmail
  3. Your switch should look like the one on the left--the right side is from a later car. It sounds like somebody did a hack job with an aftermarket switch.
  4. Sorry for the Highjack--I have a decent set of uncut blue/black front door panels (early) and a very excellent set of rears for sale cheap if someone wants to put together a blue interior...email me for more info or pictures. mobiletradition at gmail Ben
  5. Up for sale is a later 72 & Up style BEHR heater valve for 2002 and tii. This particular valve has a brass ball and not plastic. It was removed from a donor car in 1990 and put into storage. I have cleaned it up, polished the brass, and ensured that the valve is not stuck and operates freely. I did NOT open it up. It has not been tested on one of my cars, but everything functions normally, etc. New ones are Über Expensive -- $75 shipped to your door at my asking price. Please email with questions, thanks!
  6. SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
  7. Woo Hoo !! Please take and post lots of pictures so we can see this little ruby in the rough you might have found. If you hate the wheels, put me in line. Thanks! Ben
  8. Edit: (I'm not an expert...wait for C.D. to chime in and then multiply whatever he tells you by four) :] Looks too nice to be a parts car. The pictures are not very big so I can't see rust, but the early alloy wheels are probably worth $400 or more if they are not bent, curbed, and can be refinished. Depending on where you are in the country, a "driver" class car like this in decent shape could bring $3,000 +/- By the time you replace brakes, fluids, tuneup, carb adjustments, you might have another $500 into it. Buy it and please don't part it out. Ben
  9. Hi Paul, I have a spare binder set (Band 1 & 2) that I might sell. I think they are trading in the $200 range these days. Ben
  10. Please email me with payment instructions, I prefer paypal if possible. mobiletradition at gmail Thank you, Ben
  11. There is one FS right now...seller might be able to ship if you ask nicely. If you buy directly from Curt, there will be a core charge or you can send your old one back and he will refund, etc. http://www.bmw2002faq.com//index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=57&page=viewtopic&t=337167 good luck!
  12. Yikes...that looks like a pile. One too many zeros on this asking price.
  13. UPDATE: You were all right...I had a nice mouse home under the fan...I used some progressively smaller rubber hoses attached to my Hoover GarageVAC and positioned the inlet between the fan cage and blades and began sucking out all the debris down below. Luckily, it was mostly fabric based and I was able to suck it thru the 8MM fuel line or pull big clumps out with the suction and then go back in for more. After it was visibly clean, I shot some compressed air inside and then went back in with the magic vac wand. With the fan on I sprayed some Febreze and also put in a tub of DampRid inside on the floor. The area under the fuse box was mouse free. I'll follow-up with more febreze and see how it goes... Thanks everyone! Death to all mice! My 1600 did not see a lot of use from 1999 to 2009 and the previous owner’s garage was not fully critter proof, it seems. When I use the heating/vent system, I detect small mammal odors and get little bits of dirt airborne out of the defroster vents. What is the best way to freshen this up? Perhaps remove the under dash panels for a cleaning, and maybe the vent tubes from the heater box to the defroster and lower air outlets? Are these tubes still available new? I’m tired of my wife telling me “you smell like your car” Thanks!
  14. This little gem is taken from recent ebay ad, in the spirit of Tosh.0 - How many funny comments can we post in 20 seconds? (Seller, if you are on here, please take no offense, keep on truckin!) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-2002-2002-1973-BMW-2002-fully-operational_W0QQitemZ150411501352QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item2305395f28#v4-33
  15. Prep: Blasted them and smoothed a few nicks with a fine file. Body Shop primed them and shot them with several coats of silver, in this case, I think they used a Mercedes argent silver, (my other steel set was done Polaris 090 and they look similar) and a cleared them with a dull topcoat. I think I paid about $50 cash per wheel. Find someone who works at a body shop and ask if they will do it on the side/weekends. FYI--most of the cost is in the paint. Good Luck!
  16. I already have one on my 1600 or I would have bid... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250563770632
  17. Always good to see alternatives on the market. As of last summer, I got a new trap from the dealer parts counter for about $185 w/ no shipping, etc. Who knows how many are left. Knowing the price is equal to BMW's item, maybe the king could take a little less for the rep? Ben
  18. This cover, (a BMW part with date stamp 74 on the inside) came on a diff I recently purchased. Does anyone know the "how and why" for the cover with the extra two cooling Fins? Were the fins added for cooling or badassery?
  19. Might be worth a little more if it still had the barn around it! Value? As a source of good clean parts for other restorations? not too much $. As a DIY car you could get back on the road for maybe $1,000 in work and drive it as is? Might be fun...but please, please don't paint those wheels any other shade than the timeless classic of extra minty palisades green. This combo looks utterly smashing combined with a red 2002. I'm freaking out I love it so much! Save it ! Ben
  20. not mine no affiliation, etc Good Luck--it certainly "looks" nice. -Ben
  21. NM-NA, Etc. not mine no affiliation, etc BMW m10 Engine for 2002 - $350 (Charlotte) Date: 2010-01-24, 11:57AM EST Reply to: sale-ks3zh-1568099154@craigslist.org I'm selling a 1976 m10 engine for a BMW 2002. The engine runs great, there are no leaks and it doesn't smoke. Comes with Weber 32/36 Carb. I'm doing an engine upgrade on my car and won't be needing it any longer. The car had approximately 180,000 miles on it. Judging from the condition it looks like the head has been rebuilt but I have no documentation to back this up. It's very clean inside and the engine was well maintained. I was going to keep it as a spare but space is limited and like it to go to a good home. The engine stand is included. Please contact me through email.
  22. Hi Tony, I got mine last night too. Sometime in the future, would you consider making 1602 or 2002tii versions? Interestingly enough, my shirts were made in Haiti. Thanks for the shirts....they look great compared to the one I've worn out! Ben
  23. There was a post about this car last month from Woody: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,333961/highlight,jackson/
