I just used it a few weeks ago---a few issues with booking and some high-ball wacko broker bidders, but it worked and the car arrived, enough said. Hardest part is logistics of the pickup--hopefully your seller is flexible, this aint UPS.

Actually, the forklift fixed the roof to the extent that you could spend a long weekend with some q-tips and get that baby back on the road. (most of that junk yard grime will buff right out anyway) Hopefully the family of queen city bush squirrels nesting in the trunk can migrate to a new home with more sound deadening (mini-van perhaps?). Do you think it will be ready in time for Vintage at the vineyards? Good Score!!

I need to replace the glass on my driver's side Trapezoid mirror. Are there any special precautions or tips? Item #12 below; is this the white gasket?

This looks like a very early production 1968, it is EuroSpec so the taillights are yellow dot (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and this car is sporting the uber rare dog dish hubcaps painted Polaris (except for the edges) and the uber fragile aluminum trim rings that later morphed into the full wheel cover as we know it today. Picture below is of a similar daterange front end.

Look closely, you will probably see a date stamp, Lemmerez (sp) and OPEL stamped on the front side. And these were probably chromed from the factory, BTW.

Thanks Tom, The reason I ask is that most online parts houses usually list both models and the parts are not always the same for each.
Even with Real OEM or Max's site, if you select "1600" there is no USA Region listed. You must select "1602" for the USA Region to populate.
I'm considering the purchase of a 1600 and this issue popped up whilst looking up replacement brake part numbers, I thought this was strange.
Thanks!

Just wondering what early US spec 1600s were badged first off the boat and if they ever officially arrived with rear 1602 badges during the "1600" US lifespan? When is a 1600 a 1602 and vice versa?
Badge ''1602'' p/n 51141817408 is still available
Badge ''1600'' p/n 51141802102 is NLA

This is a pic of my car with 175/70/13 on 5" wheels.
TIRES ARE SIGNET, w/ 6K and could be for sale if anyone needs them. Sorry, the wheels are not for sale.

If your travels take you though central Indiana...there are several of us who live in Indianapolis, about two hours due west of the rendezvous point in the Dayton OH area Friday morning. I'll be taking off about 6 AM Friday morning in my yet to be named car. I have couch space available and live about 300 yards from a brewpub.
Ben
...well, at least I have a room reserved. Stay tuned.
I plan to be driving something with a Roundel and joining the Dayton group on Friday morning. Plans are subject to change, etc.

Has anyone here purchased these Rotbraun CoCoMats from BMW and can you confirm what actual color they are and what interior combo do they match up the best with? Anyone, Bueller, Blunt, ?

I'm told my car had the trim, but it was replaced by the PO when a new full beltline trim kit was fitted in 2005.
I was able to acquire a candidate for restoration last year--I sent it to a high end trim specialist who said it really wasn't worth fixing--I actually never paid him anything to ship it back, so, I guess I no longer have an embossed example to share.

I used to pick it up at the airport for something to read on the plane and eventually decided to subscribe. It is a nice magazine and for an added bonus, Satch Carlson writes a column in the back.
