    when I was having it Wurth Undercoated before shipping from CA to IN. Inside the cruddy box, I found a set of what I'd imagine are the original keys (or very old duplicates) made by "Hup" w/ BMW logos--no folding key unfortunately. They were sightly rusty but cleaned up well. Ben

    I had the same problem when fitting new hoses to my 68 2002 with a later intake manifold/ Weber 32/36. The hoses I ordered for my production date came with the straight hose, exactly as you have pictured. fortunately I had a stash of unlabeled NOS hoses and matched up the old one to the right one I had on hand. I believe that the waterpump to intake hose on the later 2 barrel carb intake manifold is what you are looking for. -- diagram #2, PN 11531266465. Adding to my fun-factor, the heater inlet/outlet of my early car is smaller, which made the correct hose too small to be fitted to the later intake manifold--I had to substitute the bigger hose and hope for the best. So Far, no problems. Ben

    Hi--mine started this too--I noticed a few drips over winter storage and after 2 break in drives this week, it still "weeps" -- I think CD said to "drive it" in an earlier post. I just had the cooling system apart last summer for hoses and radiator..I was not looking forward to taking it all apart again. I'm trying to decide if I can make it to V@V and back before changing. Ben

    I had 5 steelies blasted down to virgin metal for $60 at my local blasting shop. They told be it takes 12 minutes to do a wheel -- Grab a bucket of stuff you need cleaned up and let them do it all at once--sure beats wasting money on DIY systems that cant give you the same result. Ben

    before shipping from Coupeking to Indiana. The wheelwells and rockers look very nice, not "original" but I think a good step to help keep the car nice and provide some corrosion protection for long term ownership. Ben

    4x100 -- 13" x 5" These are stamped OPEL, 12/67 and made by one of the same wheel suppliers to BMW Lemxxxx (sp) These most likely came from an Opel Ralle since they dont have the riveted clips for the center caps like a GT. My center caps are from the E30 steel wheel parts bin and are held on by the lugnuts. Ben

    Unless you are doing a full body respray inside and out, I personally think a same color paintjob will help hold the long term value of your car. For Example, if given the choice of two identical cars, one in Jade and one with Jade interior and a Verona exterior, I'd take the plain Jade all the way. This is just one young man's personal opinion. Ben

    I shot the switch w/ some WD-40 and limped home. I was surprised that my local BMW dealer had a new switch in stock--I think it is the same one used on E30s and others.

    I have 2 engine leaks, and smoke on excel and deceleration. When I drive for long periods, I usually go thru most of a quart of 20W-50 between fill-ups which would be about 250 miles. I know how to fix these items, but I'm saving up to do it right for my car's 40th birthday present next year. Original Engine looks to never have been apart. Ben

    I've put off reserving my room and started to find trouble when looking at booking options online. I ended up calling the Best Western Salem Inn & Suites and they got me into a double bed room even though the online booking center claims to be all sold out for May 25-27. After reading motel reviews at www.tripadvisor.com I was nervous about a few of the local establishments. Last year I stayed at the Hampton inn near the mall, and it was nice, the area was a little busy for a foreigner. Get a room while you can!     I just had my 5 blasted ($60) and they look great. They are being refinished with 060 Polaris for about $80 each.
