  1. Not everything inside I-465 is the hood. I live just inside, and plan to send my kids to public schools in Washington Township. I did leave Irvington last year for a bigger house and better schools, but there are many good schools and areas inside the loop I felt that a school system without diversity would not be realistic in most real world situations. Ben
  2. The "Circle City" is laid out like a wagon wheel with most streets also on a grid. Twisties might exist in southern Indiana, which is really another state.
  3. Slightly SouthWest of Indianapolis along US 40 (National Road) -- Growing area, new open air mall, schools are fine, don't hear too much about them. If you need to live on the west side, also try Avon and Brownsburg. Zionsville and Carmel are a smidgen elite, southside is a little blue, but getting fancier, eastside where I'm from (the oldest and earliest "nice part" of town 80 years ago) has a nice historical area where I used to live and is an OK place. Schools can be rough in the Indy Public School Area, stick to any of the surrounding township schools in Marion county. If you like to spend more than an hour in the car driving to work, try Northeast --Fishers or Noblesville. Finally, my hometown of Greenfield is 20 miles due East of downtown, also on US 40 but the other direction from Plainfield. This area is growing, schools are good and homes are a little cheaper. If you have specific questions, please let me know--I'll try to be honest. Email me your needs and I'll try to recommend something. I now live due north 10 miles of downtown, bigger house, better school now that I've got a boy. mobiletradition at gmail .com Ben

  6. .... for a car that has had obvious visible rust repair on the rear towers. Looks like a nice enough car in the 10K range, tops IMHO. Cheers to the seller if he/she can recoup the resto investment--most humans can't. Ben
  7. Why is it still broken? Can someone save it? Who owns it now? Can we make it a subset of this FAQ? Ben
  8. .....Karl specific calendar just for Biscuit3. Remember to add all official Australian holidays including: Australia Day in January, Anzac Day in April, the Queen's Birthday Holiday in June, Bank Holiday August, Australian National Flag Day in September, Labour Day (NSW, ACT & SA) in October and finally Boxing Day on December 26. Also, please make adjustments to the seasonal calendar with Summer starting in December, Autumn in March, etc. Ben Ps, don’t forget the centerfold.
  9. Thanks Mr. Jake!! My '68 2002 is parked in front of the Oldfields–Lilly House on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Sadly this is not my primary residence. Ben Recently designated a National Historic Landmark, Oldfields–Lilly House & Gardens is an elegant 26-acre estate and historic house museum located on the grounds of the IMA. At the heart of Oldfields is Lilly House, the 22-room mansion that was once home of J.K. Lilly Jr., the late Indianapolis businessman, collector and philanthropist. Lilly House has undergone historic restoration and is now open to the public. Oldfields' magnificent gardens and grounds were designed in the 1920s by Percival Gallagher of the famous landscape architecture firm Olmsted Brothers.
  10. Hi folks, I recetly purchased this from a fellow faq'er -- and as a child of the 80's I'm not familiar with the band preset identification. I can tell you that it is a Becker Europa Model MU, Mono Universal set. What I don't know is anything about "band" BC ? It also shows "M" and "U" on the dial along w/ "FM" and "BC" Anyone have any thoughts or advice? a Google search comes up empty. I have not tested it yet. Ben (to clarify--I was born in the 70's--I just don't remember much of the good parts)
  11. The geographic center of the contiguous (lower) 48 states is about four miles west of Lebanon, Kansas, at 98°35' West 39°50' North. It would be just like Woodstock
  12. ....they spray a brine solution from tanker trucks on all bridge overpasses and turns on the interstate system. Wouldn't want mr. or mrs. Range Rover to have to slow down any on the way to starbucks or anything. Should be in the 60s here over the next few days--I'd like to go out for another drive or 2.
  13. We have no smog laws or vehicle inspections in Indiana. (Aside from border areas w/ Chicago and Louisville area I believe) - Sell it to one of us real cheap, we'll promise to take care of it until it disentigrates. (should take about 3-4 years) Ben
  14. Risky, but this is how I did it -- #1 Settle on Price #2 Overnight a $500 deposit #3 Seller sends "invoice" for amount paid, owed, etc. #4 I wired the balance to the seller #5 Seller overnighted the signed title to me with bill of sale #6 Seller delivered car to shipping terminal, sent the car with valid California plates. #7 I drove in my state with the CA plates, bill of sale and title for up to 31 days #8 I register in my state and install my new plates. #9 Car is no longer registered in CA, plate is "expired"
  15. Not sure if the headlights are right--but this is my 68 2002. Ben

  17. I did all mine this summer (non tii) using dealer numbers from real oem and ordering from dealer. Some of them are around $20 a piece.
  18. The seller didn't understand the numbering system and advertised them as possible "missing pages" -- I took a chance and was the only bidder.
