  1. http://www.mz3.net/articles/143.html From my E36 Days, any 328i or M3 lever (same unit) is the exact, yet unpolished version of the base UUC Moterworweks unit. I helped a friend put a E36 M3 lever in an 87 325e, and it was like driving a racecar. Ben

  3. Perhaps you have seen both on the Discovery Channel? Ben
  4. I have an old honda for a daily driver so I try to avoid the rain, but I don't soil my underpants if I'm out when it rains. They tell me rust is the substance formed when iron compounds corrode in the presence of oxygen and water. Try as I might, I can't always avoid all three at the same time--so I just drive. Ben
  5. I registered before, but now it won't let me login. Is the Historic Parts Catalog actually downloadable as a .PDF like the motorcycle parts catalog? If YES -- can the FAQ host or link to a copy? The regular old parts lookup is horrible from my previous experience. Ben
  6. Hi All, I'm in Seattle for a few days for work and absolutely love the automotive climate here. In my first afternoon yesterday I saw 2 squarelights and several old Fivers including a sweet E12, too many E30s to count and many more vintage VWs, Volvos, Mercs. etc. Coming from the rust belt, this is second to heaven for me. While I'm here, is there anything I shouldn't miss -- Best restaurant, scenic drive, favorite place? I have a car to get around, albeit a Ford Escape. Thanks! Ben
  7. I'll ask around. Ben PS, I have a nice green rear glass w/o defrost if you need it--hard to ship but I'm only 1.5 hours west!
  8. Front: 51-14-5-480-181 - List $24.50 Rear: 51-14-1-801-560 - List $29.15
  9. ...with a 1969 print date? Not sure when they added the rear reclectors over the bumper. Ben
  10. From CD: BMW BATTERY FOR ALL 2002'S PART NUMBER 61.21.7.567.181 This is what I have, the dealer had it in stock, it's white and has a cool good, recharge, replace sight glass on top. As Kfunk said, if you like perfection......

  12. Perhaps you know more now than you did then and are now feeling bad about the cost?
  13. the reason I ask, is: It looks like the E30 Euro cars had a steelie option in 5JX14 ET:35 and it also appears that Silver is still available for order (but as we all know 51/2JX14 ET:35 in Silver is NLA.) Might this get a 2002 driver closer to the stock/look feel? Dunno... PN 36111125684 if anyone wants to try it. Ben
  14. I've found that realoem does a good job, but the prices are sometimes, well, always realoff.com. Imagine my surprise when I tried to order a 2bbl aircleaner unit I thought was $45, when it is now actually over $900 at the dealer. No kidding. I use realoem to look up the part numbers and study the diagrams, sometimes I take this list to my dealer, and recently I took a chance on Bell BMW's (NJ) online part ordering system with rather good success. http://www.bmw-auto-parts-dealer.com/ If nothing else, looking up the part number on real oem, and checking it with http://www.bmw-auto-parts-dealer.com/ should give you the current list price. Bell was great one some prices, like a tool kit roll for about $45 when my dealer wanted almost $80 If your order is big enough, the discount they provide will more than pay for the shipping, which is about 20% - no matter what you buy. I've tried to use, and wasted many-a-man-hours with the mobiletradition parts ordering system....I think it was designed for people on another planet--it makes no sense to me either. Ben
