    Description:

I'm offering up this pair of used Yakima Surf Racks that fit the 2002 for FREE at the upcoming Bay Area Swap & Show at the Brisbane Marina in Brisbane California on July 13th 2024.

I recently took these off of my car because I scored a brand new set.  These are still fully functional but are used.  I used them for surfing, windsurfing, hauling lumber, plywood, bedframes, etc.  Very Heavy Duty.  The first two pictures are of the old racks that I want to get rid of.  The last picture is of the new set on my car so you can see the gutter mounts they use.  Same exact racks except for the pads.  The locks on the old racks are unlocked.  I'm still looking for the keys.   One really nice feature is that these racks fit in the standard 2002 trunk.  Free to whoever snags them.  Thanks,

    John GONE!!!

  3. I swear that I bought some of those same OEM hangers in the past and the same failure happened soon after I installed them.  I ended up purchasing aftermarket ones that were much more Heavy Duty and rubberized where you can't see the fabric in the rubber like the BMW OEM ones. Sorry, I don't recall the name of the aftermarket hangers.  Just saying...

  5. Light polish, degrease, then light clear coat, bake in sun.  Easy.  Now searching, always searching...  😅

When I sprayed the relays with the clear coat, I taped off the lower section with the prongs, didn't spray that.  The pic is after I took off the tape and they were baking...

Those newer Orange relays were bugging me...  Looks only... work great

    SOLD GONE

FREE NOS (and I mean old) pair of Yokohama AVID T4 185/70 R13 Tires.  FREE for pick-up at the Bay Area Swap & Show at the Brisbane Marina on July 13th in Brisbane California.

These tires are new, but were produced back in November of 2003 (so over 20 years old).  New, never mounted.  Always kept in cool dry storage.  The rubber is in good shape, not dry and cracked.  They could easily be mounted as a spare.  Maybe a man cave piece, art installation, rollers for painting your car... If anyone wants them I'll bring them to Brisbane, otherwise dump.

They look sort of dirty, but it's mostly the original waxy/soapy coating from the manufacturer that hasn't been washed off yet.  I didn't want to get them all wet.

These tires were my favorite back when they were still produced.  Went through many sets of them.  Was bummed out when they stopped making them.  FREEEEE!

The first post in this too-long thread has a chart of the CMR 13” steel rims, showing what we know about them, including offsets and weights.

    Regards,

    Threads are never too-long.  They're Alive!   💀

Thanks for the info.  You can most likely run a 205/60 13 without any major issues or a 185/70 13 no problem.  Now I understand why folks cherish them so much.  Good to know.

  8. What's rare is the 2002 I saw at the last Cars & Coffee event in Los Gatos.  It had an S52 from an E36 M3 slammed into it.  It was frick'n awesome. Sorry no pics.  There wasn't a lot of room left in that engine bay...

  9. I decided to Stay Tubed on my 74tii.  Turned my clamps around so the loom tube is closer to the oil cap this time.  Added wave washers under the standoff bolts so hopefully won't leak oil as much as it used to.  I'm good with it.

  10. stock tii resto?  What's dat? 😊

I have no idea of the condition of your car.  I would say get your car working properly in the stock configuration before adding on extra stuff.  The stock 2002tii system as a whole works very well when maintained correctly.   That's the "stock tii resto" for me.  The stock tii brakes are fine when working correctly.  Same with the fuel injection system, engine systems.  Get those dialed in first.  Then think about the bling.

Granted I added extra stuff like Toby said above.  Mild suspension upgrades, etc..  and have been liv'n the 2002 lifestyle 😎
