  1. If you have a brake fluid reservoir cap that has a sensor for detecting a low brake fluid level, then the two wires connect to the cap (which has the integrated sensor/float switch) and two electrical connections. These caps cost $ so are often replaced with a plastic cap with no sensor.
  2. Hi guys, remember, the 1974 US tii models came standard with a distributor that has a single port vacuum retard on it. Thanks, John
  3. Are they 4x100 bolt pattern? Those are cool looking wheels.
  4. Someone might have already mentioned this. The fact that you did the big brake upgrade on the front probably means that you won't be able to fit stock 5x13 inch wheels. The stock wheels on a tii were 5x13 ET 29. Those 5.5x13 ET 18 wheels (320i wheels) aren't stock and probably won't fit with the big brakes either. Just saying, John PS, I'm in the same camp as Paul (13" wheels with the Pirelli 185/70 CN36 tires, love um)
  5. The thing I like about these Harada PM-13 antennas is that they're made out of metal. They're straight outta Compton .... but made in Taiwan ?
  6. No security screw on mine, the replacement came with a new stainless phillips head screw.
  7. I took the lazy way out and undid the single screw and had an insta-NEW antenna today. Will replace the base with the cable and the top mount at a later time. So stoked on finding these...
  8. Both of my cars came with these type of antennas. I've been looking for new ones for many years because the chrome on mine are really pitted. Last week I found a couple of vendors on e-bay that are selling NOS ones of these. They are Harada PM-13. I received the ones that I ordered last night and they are an exact match to the 30+ year old ones on my cars. At $20, they were a steal. There's a bunch of them still for sale on eBay for anyone looking: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Harada-PM-13-AM-FM-Mobile-Pillar-Mount-Antenna-For-Most-Compact-Cars/163321254581?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 OR https://www.ebay.com/itm/Harada-PM-13-Vintage-Universal-Pillar-mount-Antenna-3-Section-50-Max-Extension/182745455391?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Good luck, John
  9. If my memory is correct, those stock blue wires for an E21 have resistors built into them and shouldn't be used on a 2002.
  10. I would like to be added to the list to purchase two of these. Thanks, John
  11. I've heard good things about MemoryFab. Terry Conners showed me some Alpina wheels for an E9 coupe that he had refinished by them and they looked great. http://www.memoryfab.com/
  12. Here's a link to a technical article on how to fix this. I need to do this on my '74tii, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Good luck, John Link to tech article:
  13. I always thought of the Datsun 510 as the poor man's 2002. I used to own a 510 and also a 240Z back in the day.

I purchased a 380mm Petri sport steering wheel from Ben a long time ago. At the time I thought the $350 price tag was rather high. I still have the wheel and am stoked that I shelled out the bucks way back when. Who would have known where the prices of those steering wheels would go...
  15. One comment I would add about the Ronal Kleeblatt wheels. I love the way that they look and also the fit of the 6x13 ET28 wheel. The thing I don't like about them is that they use shank style lug nuts. Those lug nuts are a PITA in my opinion. That's it, John
  16. I ran a set of the 6x13 ET28 Ronal Kleeblatt wheels on my slightly lowered 2002tii with 185/70 R13 tires. They fit perfectly with no rubbing at all. The 185/70 tires did look a little bit stretched on the 6" wide wheels though. I do have fixed camber plates on the front too. I believe that they would also fit using 205/60 tires as I did test fit the rims with 205/60 tires when I first bought the rims, but didn't really drive much on them with those 205/60s. Good luck, John
  17. Love those Cosmic wheels Jim. What's the width?
  18. What type of clear coat do you guys recommend to spray over the silver coat? I refinished a set of Ronal Kleeblatt wheels in silver (1Z Einszett brand) and then sprayed Wurth clear coat over them. They looked great for a while, but I was disappointed in how quickly the Wurth clear coat started to yellow. Now I need to strip the wheels and refinish them again.
  19. Probably stowaways from the Turkish rat factory
  20. The brake hose you get from BMW is black now and works great. I've found that some of the blue brake hose available from Continental can be a really tight fit. It works, but is really hard to get on those plastic elbows that go into the master cylinder. The black hose from BMW is easier to get on the elbows, but doesn't look as "cool". Make sure the rubber grommets on the master and slave cylinders are in good shape too.
  21. The real wear area on the tii throttle body is the other hole that has the pressed in bushings (brass I think). Those bushings get worn because of the spring tension from the throttle return spring. I've heard that people sometimes get that area re-bushed, but I don't know where they get it done. The needle bearings are on the shaft for the butterfly, no?
  22. Where did you hear that from? I have a set that I purchased from Longstone Tyres and have been very impressed with the high quality of the tires. That "rat factory" in Turkey where the tires are made happens to be the same factory where Pirelli makes all of their tires for Formula 1 racing. That's what the guy from Longstone Tyre told me. Anyone on here who has actually purchased a set of these had any issues with the quality? John
  23. I ended up selling that Italvolante wheel to a guy with a 3.0 CSL Coupe. That was a very nice piece.
