  1. Thanks guys, I went ahead and ordered a new pair of the Trapezoidal mirrors from Connor at Vintage Autobahn. John
  2. I ended up using the rubber grommets like others have done. I found some nice nylon bushings that fit the shaft, but I couldn't slide them over the bends in the shaft, so just went with the rubber ones. John
  3. Hi guys, I was thinking about possibly replacing the flag mirrors installed on my '73tii with the trapezoidal kind. Do both type of mirrors mount the same (using the same two holes with the captive nuts)? Thanks, John
  4. Hi Jerry, Yes it's still available. Lay a $20 on me at Brisbane and it's yours. Thanks, John

  7. vintage wiper arm for 1600/2002. Satin Silver. It's the top one in the picture. Notice how the wing on the arm is different (extended a little bit) than the shiny one. Not sure what year this one is correct for. Good condition. Same length, so will work on all. *** ITEM SOLD *** Reserve it with PayPal, pickup at Brisbane Swap & Show. PM for details...

  11. *** ITEM SOLD *** I've got this pair of vintage Scheel seats for sale. I don't want to hassle with trying to ship them. Local pickup (Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay Area CA) or I can bring them to Brisbane if there's serious interest. I used to have these installed in my '73tii. The headrests are new reproductions from NML Depot (Gerrit Blankman) in Germany (http://www.nml-depot.de/nmldepot006.htm). They have the excellent EuroTrash mounts included. Just bolt up your stock sliders and go. Very solid mounts. One of the seats has a tear in the cushion (see photos). PM me if any interest, Reserve with PayPal, pickup at Brisbane Swap & Show. John
  12. I was going to say that the Baggie would tear if you ran it over my daily driver. That hood shot is awesome Jason. No worries there mate . Looking forward to seeing your car at Brisbane COOP.
  13. What year is your car? It's my understanding that the '74 and later non-tii 2002s used a 0.9 ohm resistor wire. You should remove that section of the burnt resistor wire and replace with the correct gauge regular wire. If you can read the numbers stamped into the bottom of the black coil I can probably figure out what resistor it takes based on the Bosch part number. I own black coils that take a 0.9 ohm resistor and I own black coils that take 1.8 ohm. The part number is the best way to confirm which resistor is correct for your coil. Some of the coils have a sticker on them that tells you which resistor it needs. Or, get a 1.8 resistor and a "red" coil. or a blue coil and no resistor. If you hook up a resistor, place the red power for your Hot spark before the resistor so that it gets the full 12 volts when the engine is running (not the stepped down voltage after the resistor). Take a look at the Article called 'Ignition Coil Myths Busted' in the Electrical articles section of this site. Hope this helps. John
  14. Andrew, with the switchable model on your tii, did you select the setting that mimics the tii 008 distributor? Thanks, John
  15. Hazet Oil Filter Wrench. 74.4mm 14-Point 3/8" drive. Fits perfectly on Mahle or Mann oil filters. http://www.rmeuropean.com/Make/BMW/1973/2002-Base-E10-20L-L4.aspx?search=Oil_Filter_Wrench Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen filter until hand tight, put plastic zip-lock baggy over it. loosen until it drops in baggy. Oil pan under to catch any oil drips. I do all of this from beneath the car (my cars still have the battery in the stock location) I jack up the driver side slightly to help with getting under it.
  16. The new owner needs to ditch that blue coil or bypass the ballast resistor. Looks like he's running the blue coil with the ballast still inline === weaker spark...
  17. F.P.S. == Fratelli Pedrini Sarezzo. Some information about that company here: http://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hmn/2010/04/FPS--Fratelli-Pedrini-Sarezzo/2999971.html Those are some nice looking wheels. Hopefully they aren't 4x98 and have the correct backspacing. John
