  1. A little morning coffee before paddling out
  2. Not if you have 5x13" rims like the later stock steel wheels or the tii alloys. I can see them being too wide on any rim less than 5" wide. I love the old Yokohama AVID T4s. Great tires. I've still got a set on my '73 tii. The Toyo Extenzas come pretty close.
  3. Mo betta Closer to diameter of the stock 165/80 13 tire
  4. Another option is the Toyo Extenza in 185/70 13. Good tire in a better size than 175/70.
  5. I recently purchased a set of the Toyo Extensa 185/70 13 per Mike Self's recommendation here. I have them on my daily driver with 5x13" stock steel wheels and really like them. 5000 miles and counting ... John
  6. Here's some good pics of those spade type connectors with the tabs: https://www.belmetric.com/electrical-connectors-noninsulated-connectors-c-19_164_200.html?zenid=1g1842vf0t6msl3m44814mdlr7
  7. What a great way to subsidize the car habit. That's so cool. Your car and the models look great! Agave lipstick I'm afraid to show my 11 year old daughter.
  8. Someone left a copy of that on my desk at work yesterday. Still trying to figure out who it was. I noticed the Ronal Kleeblatt wheels on the car in the article. I have the same wheels on my '74 daily driver.
  9. I know that the old Bosch part number for the round-plug version that's oriented like the current (02-102) is the (02-090) with the full Bosch part #1-237-330-292. You can sometimes find that NOS part on ebay. But I guess you're really after the old part number for the one that's oriented like the current 02-031. I think both of the round plug versions from Bosch are no longer produced and have been superseded to the ones with the square plugs. The BMW part number for the (02-031) is 12-11-1-354-496. I see that Pelican Parts sells the BERU version of that condenser, but it's hard to tell from the picture on their site whether the plug is round on the BERU made one or not. Good luck, John EDIT: I just looked at an old tii 008 distributor that I have and it has the round plug version of the condenser that's oriented like the 02-031 and stamped on the bottom of the condenser is the Bosch part number 1-237-330-162 which is the same as the current (02-031) and it also says Made in Germany, so you know it's an old one.
  10. I will do that. Hopefully I will learn something. Jason is a good bloke. I like his Scheel seat adapters
  11. Those three cars of mine are the only cars I own and drive. I guess I should see a therapist I try my best to do everything myself on them ... Thanks to the FAQ Just not sure if I need more to mess around with ... I'm becoming more of a set it and drive the crap out of it kinda-guy in my old age
  12. The main/only reason I might choose the switchable is the lack of the vacuum port on the side because my '73 uses a mechanical advance now. Also ... I know myself ... With the Tune model, I'll be constantly dicking around with it for ever ...
  13. I'm debating between getting the switchable 123 model with the 16 built in curves or the Tune model. The switchable one comes with a built in curve that mimics the 2002tii 008 distributor which should be fine for my stock tii engine. It looks like the Tune model always comes with the vacuum port on the side? I guess you just plug it if you don't need it? The switchable one comes with or without the vacuum port. John
  14. That steering wheel looks very similar to the 350mm Momo Prototipo wheel. I've always liked the looks of those, esspecially the flat (non-dished) ones. Is the Falcon dished?
  15. I'm glad not to have electric windows. I wish my 3.0 csi didn't have them ... And AC ... I don't need no stink'in AC
  16. I'll keep looking for the part number this weekend. I know they were BMW parts that I ordered from the BluntMeister (Steve Petersen). I just need to find the e-mail. The riser thingys have a bolt on one side and a long threaded nut on the other. EDIT: Found it! They're called 'Extension' part #13-65-1-353-339
  17. After looking at Steve's wires and the photo from good old CD, I think I have my loom clamps backwards. Loom tube should probably be more over the valve cover no?
  18. This wire set w/loom came from Kingsborne. I dig it, it's been working great for many years. It's made using good BERU parts. The little riser bolts and the clamps for the loom are BMW parts from a lot of the older big-6 cylinder cars (5-series 535's, e9 coupes, 635's etc.) Be careful if you already have the loom and just want to order a replacement set of wires for it. The wire set made to fit the loom uses wires that are cut longer than the standard set has. The #3 wire will be too short. Been there, done that. Best is to call them and tell them what you want. As far as the coil wire, they always send me a coil wire that's the long non-tii length. You just unscrew the connector from the coil side of the wire, cut it to the length you want. Then screw the connector back on the wire. It's easy. The BMW part number for the tube clamps: 12-12-1-350-635 I can't find the part number for those little riser bolt things.
  19. That's a sweet looking car Steve. Please post pics of the engine bay some time. I wonder if the engine still has the '74tii specific stuff on it (vacuum retard distributer, extra vacuum stuff on the intake and air filter, ect.) The stock setup works really well and matches the injection pump which was unique on the 74tiis. Looking good, John My 74tii is 2781840 built 05/74 (right side exhaust exit)
  20. When I had the stock seats on my '73tii redone last year, the lower pads were in good shape. Probably replaced at some point by the previous owner. I think there was a tag on the lower drivers side pad that said 'Johnson Controls' or something like that. The pads fit nicely. Don't know if that company exists anymore or not. John
  21. Made me look. I think this is the later style throttle body. cap only will fit one way. Looks like the rubber cap on the bottom should be about 20mm outer diameter. More of a grease cap than anything I think. Use synthetic grease.
