  1. Looks like the shedded skin from an Aligator lizard. They are very common in California. I only slightly weird thing I found was a 'Green Party' button under the back seat of my '73 tii.
  2. When I purchased part #34 11 1 103 232, they came with the mushroom caps:
  3. You might try GAHH. I've heard that they are on the pricy side, but very good quality. http://www.gahh.com/ Or, SMS Auto Fabrics: http://www.smsautofabrics.com/
  4. Yes, I just rebuilt my stock seats and used new stainless steel screws I purchased from McMaster Carr. You want 8mm Size, 20mm length, 1.25 Pitch, Oval Head Phillips Machine Screws. The Stainless Steel ones are Item #90258A308 from McMaster Carr's website. $7.36 for a package of 25 screws. You might also want to chase the threads on the seats using an 8mm 1.25 pitch tap before trying to thread in the new screws. Good luck, John
  5. Sorry, don't have a part number. I was able to find a rubber grommet that fit from a little mixed package of generic rubber grommets that I found at the local Kragen/O'Reilly's here in California.
  6. I believe that the stock tii alloys are 5x13 ET26.
  7. I bet you could get some from Double 02 Salvage in Hayward too.
  8. FWIW both my 73 and 74 have throttle bodies like the one on the right in Rob's photo. I'm not sure of the build date on my 73 #2764396, but I think it's a fairly late one
  9. Received my set on Monday. The lines look great. Thanks Dieter, Thomas and Rob (2002Haus)!
  10. I bought a new one back in the early 90's and the paint looked identical to the one shown on e-bay. I purchased it from BimmerParts in PA. Surprisingly that's the same name that this seller is using. I think that BimmerParts was owned by Maxamillian at the time that I bought mine. I paid $1500 which I thought was a lot back then. I wonder how much this one will fetch?
  11. On da bay NMNA: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E10-2002tii-COMPLETE-WIRING-HARNESS-CAREFULLY-REMOVED-WITH-FUSE-BOX-RELAYS-/271172603572?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item3f23258eb4
  12. I rebuilt the bumper on my '73tii and it has the holes instead of the slots. The T-Bolts are #22 in the diagram like 02Les said.
  13. Both the Beru and Hella voltage regulators have a set point of around 14.4 Volts which is nice. The original Bosch regulators as well as the the newer Bosch units have a set point that's quite a bit lower than 14.4 Volts ~13 Volts. I actually prefer the Beru or Hella units because of this. If you order one of the Wehrle brand units shown on the AutohausAZ website, they'll send you one of the Beru units, at least that's what I got from them. The Beru one's look very similar to the original Bosch ones (metal can w/yellow tape). The Hella ones are black plastic and the regulator is encased in epoxy. They both work great. There's also these adjustable voltage regulators (Made in China) that allow you to adjust the set point of the regulator. I've played around with one on my coupe and they also work great (metal can with regulator encased in epoxy). You really don't want the output to be more than 14.4V, so the Hella and Beru are safe bets if you want slightly more output than the stock Bosch units. http://www.davebarton.com/AdjustableVoltage.html
  14. I have the Kingsborne wire sets with the loom tube on both of my tiis. When I called Kingsborne and asked about it, they said that they use the loom tube from one of their Audi wire sets. They also said that I could purchase just the tube if I wanted it.
  15. So far I've bought 3 alternators (2 tii and 1 coupe) and 3 standard starters (boat anchor type) from BnR. All are going strong and have never failed. The oldest alternator is about three years old in my daily driver tii and the oldest starter is about 4 years old. In my coupe I bought one of BnR's 85 AMP internally regulated units and then swapped out the internally regulated brush assembly for an externally regulated type because I didn't want to ditch the external voltage regulator. Most people don't go that route, but it's easy to do if you want the higher AMP alternator and wish to keep the stock external voltage regulator.

  17. e-mail sent on locking Gas Cap with key. My '73tii has always had the later style gas cap which isn't the correct one for the car. Thanks, John
  18. Take a look at the end of this thread. I show some pictures of the various horn contact 'carbon pins' available from BMW along with the part numbers. They aren't all the same diameter: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/p,909865/highlight,/#909865 Hope that helps, John
  19. Maybe Daniel Stern Lighting? http://www.danielsternlighting.com/ I'm surprsied that Susquehanna doesn't have them. You might want to call them. That's how I got some replacement city light bulbs for my Euro 3.0 csi headlights that weren't listed on their website. http://www.rallylights.com/hella/Hella%2012V%20SPST%20Relays.aspx#fused
  20. As you probably know: thread size of insert should be 15mm x 1.5mm pitch
  21. Is this it? Plug -- Part #32111102781
  22. Yes, definitely 15x1.5. I just bought one from the seller named merlintools on ebay. Wasn't cheap ~$26.00 and shipped from China. Worked great though...
