  1. I know that the 5Jx13" (ET:29) later style 2002 steelies (Part #36111112631) work with the bigger 250mm E21 rear drum brakes. They also work with stock tii calipers. It's hard to tell from your picture, but are those 5x13 (ET:29) 2002 steelies or are they the 5 1/2 x 13 (ET:18) steelies from an E21?
  2. Hey Paul, How were the little bolts that secure the injection points? I had a similar problem when I replaced the injection points on my '74 3.0 csi. The original bolts were all stripped out and wouldn't secure the points correctly. I thought I was screwed and that the distributor holes for the bolts were stripped out, but luckily it was just the bolts. Just a thought. Good luck, John
  3. Those original brake adjustment wrenches also work great for getting to the innner bolt when removing the starter on an 02.
  4. Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be filling up the Motive bleeder this weekend and doing the marathon bleeding of the systems on all three of my cars. I've been bleeding the brakes yearly, but never have done the clutch slaves on any of them. Good thing I have 5 new liters of Ate fluid... In the past I've always just used the Motive bleeder for supplying pressure and not filling it with fluid. Time to fill'r-up!
  5. Thanks Dave, I'll plan on putting her back up on jack stands this weekend and bleed the system again with the pressure bleeder. This time I won't forget to bleed the clutch too, John
  6. I've read the FAQ on bleeding the clutch slave cylinder when you bleed your brakes. What wasn't clear to me is if you can use a pressure bleeder (like the Motive bleeder I have) to also bleed the clutch slave? Thanks for any info, John
  7. I did the same job on my daily driver tii this past weekend. What type of pads did you go with? I used the Hawk HPS pads (High Performance Street) and am very pleased with them. Very little dust so far... Looking good!
  8. I've heard of people coating the original door cards with POR-15 to help create a moisture barrier.
  9. +1. I enjoyed meeting and talking with Norm at Brisbane this year. Nice guy and a very nice car. Sad to see this happen to anyone. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, John
  10. Considering the OEM pieces are now made in Turkey that's not much consolation. I guess I must have lucked out since mine were labeled "Made in Germany". They were the ones with the short 18mm studs. BMW Part#31 33 1 110 195. They had a little BMW logo molded into the rubber. I used them along with the fixed camber plates from you guys (Ireland Engineering). So far, so good. Keeping my fingers crossed that they last...
  11. This makes me glad that I sprung for the OEM BMW strut bearings from Blunt. Mine have been on my daily driver for about a month and have no signs of cracking. The plastic dust covers also fit correctly on the OEM bearings too.
  12. I've noticed the same holes with the plastic hanger on the aftermarket hoses made by MacKay (Made in Australia). They seem to seal OK, but I thought it was weird to have holes punched in the hoses too.
  13. What SteveJ said! How was the weather Thank you to everyone involved. What a great event! Until next year or hopefully sooner on a drive or something. Thanks again, John PS. Rumor has it that there was a spirited drive after the event with Jan in the lead, followed by Blunt & Brandon, followed by Alex, Daniel and a few stragglers like me in the rear. Those crazy Columbians kept that Mojo going...Was great
  14. Great pictures Scott! That was the most enjoyable event I’ve been to. My thanks go out to all of the volunteers that made it happen. Take care, John

  19. Barking Sands? I got the best waves of my life there back in the 80's. What a beautiful place Kauai is. Need to return soon...
  20. Walloth Nesch in Germany also have a few for sale: http://www.wallothnesch.com/
  21. DIN sized mounts are about 18x5 cm. These work good in the 2002 because the console is around 20 cm wide at the top. Parker performance makes a nice mount for DIN sized radios into a stock console. Good luck, John
  22. In honor of the upcoming Brisbane event on Cinco De Mayo. One of my favorites:
  23. I always thought those plastic storage bins looked cool, but NOT $1000 worth of cool. Then I was talking with a guy who had one of those bins and he told me the only downside was that if any moisture gets in your trunk, the moisture will condense under the plastic bin and start to rust out the rear shock towers. He said that he would only put the bin in his trunk when he was going to actually use it. Something to think about...
  24. Paul, Just make sure that you use the proper resistor with that new Black coil. The coil should have a label on it which states the resistor to use. Your tii is probably using a 1.8 ohm resistor. You can check on the resistor to see if it is marked 1,8 on it's metal base. Some black coils require a 0.9 ohm resistor. If that's the case, you might have to swap your resistor for a 0.9 ohm one. If you're running a Petronix, you want to hook up the positive wire of the Pertronix unit before the ballast resistor so that the Petronix gets full 12+ voltage. Good luck, John
