  1. Yes, use denatured alcohol (available at most hardware stores). It works great for cleaning up brake fluid too. At least here in Santa Cruz California, they do accept brake fluid along with used oil at the recycling center at our county dump. I too thought it was odd that the guy at the recycling center told me to "just pour the brake fluid into the same tank with the used motor oil".
  2. I see them on US e-bay for around $200-300. There's a couple of them on there now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Bmw-2002tii-Brake-booster-great-upgrade-2002-/280727307156?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415ca6c394 And this one too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-2002Tii-Brake-Booster-/360387763841?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53e8c8de81 Good luck, John
  3. OK, keep me posted. I could really use them. Thanks, John nyingma at sbcglobal dot net
  4. The way that Ken has his is the way it is on a tii. Hose connector at the bottom.
  5. Yup, on the tii booster it's a little metal pipe coming out of the booster. No plastic part
  6. +1, I got both the Roundie and the Sponge-Bob Square tail kits from Sherman. They are used almost every day here on the foggy Central California coast. Probably one of the best upgrades I ever made on my cars. The '74 square-tails didn't come standard with the intermittant setup like the 75s & 76s did, but were wired for them. You need to add the three position stalk and the relay, but it's plug and play.
  7. Yes, tires, brakes, wipers and a rebuilt heater box/fan... Critical If you have the intermittient wiper setup, that helps too. For those foggy days...
  8. If you would sell the sliders seperately, I'm interested in those. Thanks, John nyingma at sbcglobal dot net
  9. Same here, My wife thinks all of them are POS. The only "other" car we own is her Honda CRV. She don't drive mine, I don't drive hers.. Works for me, but I have to keep her car serviced and running great at all times.. ;-)
  10. I do not know. Maybe someone here will. I haven't seen the car in person. It looks like it could be a Petri steering wheel but I am not sure if they made a wood model. I should know more once the car is in my possession. Looks like a nice car. I think that might be a Steering Wheel made by Personal.
  11. It seems like every set of Scheel seats I see are different. They must have made a lot of variations over the years. Here's where the ones I bought from "the carpet queen" Esty ended up. These are mounted using Recaro sliders and frames from 'Wedge Engineering' in my coupe.
  12. New Hazard Flasher switch For Sale. BMW Part# 61 31 1 355 358 This is the one that has 6 pins on the back instead of 8. I bought the wrong one by mistake. It cost me $56.00, will sell for $25.00 shipped to the lower 48. Brand new BMW part never installed. Thanks, John
  13. What's the diameter of that wheel? $15 was a steal, John
  14. Looks like the flat version of the Momo Prototipo wheel. Hopefully it's about 380mm diameter. That's my favorite size wheel for the '02. The dished type Prototipos are much easier to come by and are only 350mm diameter. What's it worth? Whatever you're willing to pay for it. To get an idea of a price, the dished Prototipos sell for around $200 new. Whether it's a real Alpina wheel (which were made by Momo anyway) is anyones guess. The Alpina wheels that I own have the Alpina logo stamped into the metal on the wheel, not a sticker. Good luck, John
  15. Interested in finding a set of Scheel sliders. I have the top part of the Scheel sliders (the part that bolts to the bottom of the seats), so really only need the bottom part. But would be interested in buying complete sliders if you've got some you want to part with. I can be reached by e-mail at: nyingma at sbcglobal dot net Thanks, John
  16. My 6 year old daughter named my coupe Marshmallow. It stuck because the car is Marshmallow colored (Chamonix - Yellow-Snow colored). The other ones aren't really named. I refer to them as "the orange car" and "the Thrasher".
  17. Hi Jason, These sound very promising. Looking forward to seeing what the prototypes look like. Thanks, John
  18. Looking good Ray! I like that 'Original elefant teile' background.
  19. Similar to the BMW's, the later ('68+) Bugs got the big bumpers. The best bug I ever owned was a '67. I also had a '68 convertable for a while. What a godsend adjusting the valves on a 2002 was compared with the VW. Had a VW van for a while too. Cool cars
  20. My Dad and Brother are into Pig Hunt'n... I only hunt/fish what I will eat. I'm not into swine. ;-) My Brother packing one out.
  21. Cool picture. Reminds me of coming over the hill through Hunter-Ligget to the ocean via Nacimiento-Fergusson Road.
  22. I found out the hard way using a URO front windshield seal. Didn't fit in the corners correctly and my windshield wipers would bump against the seal. "Luckily" about a month after installing the windshield with the URO seal, a rock kicked up on the freeway and cracked my front windshield, so I installed the correct BMW seal along with a new windshield. Perfect fit. Just say NO to URO!
  23. Good R&D there eurotrash. I think that there might be a little bit more wiggle-room to center the seat on an E9, but I'm not sure. John
  24. I like the plate style mount that you've come up with Jason. Good work. Something in the plate style would work great on an E9, but would have to be wider because the distance between the stock seat rails on an E9 are wider than they are on a 2002. I have Scheels mounted in my E9 using Recaro sliders which I had to re-drill to match the Scheel mounting holes. The main problem on the E9 is the height of the seat. If you think that your Scheels sit high in a 2002, its much worse in an E9. That's why using something like the plate would get your seat to mount as low as possible. I'd be interested in the plate-style mount for a 2002 and also one that would fit an E9 if that could be done. I could create a template for the E9. Also, does your plate-style mount center the seat on the steering wheel instead of having it centered between the two rails? Thanks, John
  25. Grice, The parts were waiting for me when I got home tonight. Incredible! Thanks, John
