  1. Here's another from the same seller. He's a FAQ'er. I purchased a 5 speed and also an E21 LSD from him. Top notch e-bay seller. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-1982-320i-5-Speed-Transmission-BMW-2002-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3365a4bf98QQitemZ220748627864QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  2. That's an oldy. Cool radio. Yes, that little clear pop off plastic cap is covering the 5 pin DIN port. You can get a cable like this one to plug in an iPod: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VINTAGE-MONO-CAR-RADIO-CD-IPOD-CONNECTOR-CABLE-LOOK-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem51961c4ce0QQitemZ350410788064QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  3. Make sure the speedometer that you want to swap IN is the proper one for the differential that you're running. The W= xxxxx number stamped on the back of the speedo will tell you: 3.45:1 diff -- W=1.24 speedo 3.64:1 diff -- W=1.297 speedo (W=1.30 is close enough) 3.90:1 diff -- W=1.39 speedo ('76 49-State 2002) 3.91:1 diff -- W=1.393 speedo (E21 320is LSD) 4.10:1 diff -- W=1.4 speedo (1.461 calculated) 4.11:1 diff -- W=1.4 speedo (1.465 calculated) 4.38:1 diff -- W=1.559 speedo (calculated)
  4. I always thought the little "Brake Failure" button for testing the light that is supposed to come on when the brake fluid is low is kind of cool on the older clusters...
  5. I'm pretty sure that the only wiper arms available new are the black passenger side arms made by Bosch (Steve/Blunt would know). You can use passenger side arms on either side, they just don't have the little wing on them. Another alternative is Jaymic in the UK. Jaymic sells after market chrome wiper arms that fit the 2002. I lost the passenger side chrome arm on my car a while back and eventually sourced a good used one from e-bay. Good luck, --John EDIT: I think the Jaymic Chrome arms are made in the UK by TEX: http://www.texautomotive.com/classic.html
  6. Those adapters don't look like the ones from Wedge Engineering. The ones from Wedge are a complete frame that bolts where the stock 2002 sliders bolt to the floor and are meant to be used with the Recaro sliders and not the 2002 sliders. Those look like custom ones that will bolt to the stock sliders. --John
  7. Looks like Alpina is now also into wine? http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/en/alpina-company/alpina-wine.html
  8. That's one of the reasons I'm still running stock 13" steelies on my daily driver. That combined with the stock Blaupunkt radio and the thieves don't even give it a second look...

    wheels

I confirmed with the seller that those wheels are the 13"x6" wide models with the 12.8 offset :-(
  10. If you're asking me, it's a W=1.297 (for a 3.64 diff). --John
  11. john...if you haven't found one yet and/or things don't work out for you, i have a couple or more clusters like you want...nice, clean & working Thanks Esty, I know that you can be trusted for a no B.S. transaction. Just like Blunt Will be in touch...
  12. I've been dealing with e-bay seller jknudstwo. I bought what was advertised and shown as a guage cluster for a 72-73 (all black faces on the guages). After pestering him with e-mails because I hadn't received the cluster (after 20+ days) I received a cluster in the mail yesterday. The cluster I received looks nothing like the one shown in the e-bay ad. It's got two later cross-hair style guages and a black faced tac. I decided to request a full refund from e-bay/PayPal and have a dispute open with them right now. This is my first bad e-bay experience after over 100 positive transactions. Sorry to hear that I'm not the only one, --John
  13. Check with Dave Varco (Aardvark racing) for the rear bumper loop supports. I purchased a set from him a couple of years ago. Good luck, --John http://www.2002parts.com/
  14. Hi Ryan, Would be interested in how you mounted those seats in your E9. I recently purchased a set of Scheel seats that I plan to mount in my E9. Do you still have the brackets that you used for mounting the seats? Thanks, --John
  15. I'm a Software Engineer / Systems Analyst. Degree in Computer Science U.C. Santa Cruz class of '85. Shortly after graduation and landing a job, I purchased my 1st BMW (1974 2002tii) which is still my daily driver to this day. Cheers, --John
  16. My comment about the drip line was just my warped pot-head sense of humor. Sorry guys. I need to lay off the herb...
  17. drip line? You must be from Kalifornia ;-) A drip line plug would be perfect
  18. Yes. On a tii installation, there's another part (a plastic nipple) that snaps into that hole. Then a little rubber or silicon hose connects the nipple to a little brass tube that comes out of the side of the tii throttle body. You can get the plastic nipple through Blunt. www.blunttech.com
  19. Since your radio is the stereo version of the Blaupunkt Frankfurt, you could use the stereo version of the cable that plugs into the 7 pin stereo AUX port on the back of the radio if you wanted to play your ipod directly through that radio. The older mono radios use a 6 pin AUX port, stereo uses 7 pin. Here's an example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Blaupunkt-Becker-Europa-STEREO-iPod-MP3-Adapter-Cable-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem23051c249dQQitemZ150409585821QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  20. The distance between the rails on the stock seats of an E9 (3.0 CS) are wider than the rails on the stock seats on a 2002. So, I don't think it would be "easy".
  21. I seem to remember that it was much easier to remove the starter with the oil filter removed 1st...
