I bought some reproduction ones from a guy named Gerrit Blankman in Germany NML-Depot a long time ago. Not sure if he's still around or not.

I remember when I had to remove those safety bolts on an E9 to fix the ignition. It was a PITA. I drilled into them and used an easy-out bit. I replaced them with standard hex head bolts. Lucky for the next owner if they ever have to go in there again. IMO

MVP does make reproduction wiper arms now. I haven't tried them, just saying...

So the Cinturato is maybe more of a sporty all season than a performance summer tire?Yes, you can drive daily on the CN36s wet, dry. The tread pattern on the RA-1 doesn't like wet very well. It would be interesting to know the treadwear rating on the CN36s. This for the 13" versions...
From what I've seen:
RA-1 100 AA A, (Treadwear, Traction, Temp), not available in 13"
Michelin XDX-B 185/70 13: 100 A A
Vredstein 185/70 13: 160 A B
Kumho: 185/70 13: 700 A B
Laufenn 500 A A
Pirelli CN36 185/70 13: ???
Michelin XAS 165/80 13: ???
Pirelli CN36 165/80 13: ???

how do these compare to modern performance tires like the Toyo RA1s? Similar performance with vintage looks or are they different classes of tire?
I would say they're different classes of tires. The RA-1 being a racetrack autocross only tire.

I've purchased two sets of the 185/70 CN36s from Longstone and couldn't be happier. Their customer service and fast shipping was excellent. Funny that I can get a set of tires from the UK to California quicker than TireRack can ship a set of tires from Nevada.
I love the look of the Dunlop 185/70 SP Sport AquaJets. Wondering what your opinion is of those tires when compared with the CN36?

One of my extra Koito sets is spoken for (thx yeewiz). I'll be at the "Neue Klasse and Kaffee" in Los Gatos tomorrow morning.
$27 Last one...SOLD.lasted about 60 seconds yesterday. 🙂 Was cool to hang out with the local '02 crew again. Their cars are so nice that it's very inspiring. Was stoked to be able to see the ex Bob Murphy Alpina A4 car in person. Stupid that I didn't take any pictures. Next time...- 3

Thank you for the message of being aware of outdoor inhabitants...
NIce car. Those wheels and car color...what a great match!
One of those inhabitants can ruin your whole day, or euro front bumper and grill...
The deer are considered vermin by the apple farmers in my area. Those and there's also a wild turkey explosion. I'm a big fan of predators (the mountain lions and coyotes) myself...
EDIT: 04/18/2024:
A buddy of mine sent me a picture from his game cam in the area. Not a great picture, but looks like 4 young mountain lions to me. There's hope... Keep your little poodles inside 😐 I'm determined to get a picture of one of my cars near the wild turkeys... It's crazy. How would you like a nice Tom Turkey coming through your windshield? WOW, just got news. Legend Dickey Betts RIP 😞

I think I still have a few that I made last year for sale.
I don't recall the price, but if you can wait untill after the 23rd I'll let you know as I'm in South Florida until then.
Pm me if you're interested.
I knew that somebody else had re-made them too but couldn't remember who it was. Yours also had the plastic ends didn't they?

Hi Dave, so I’ve ordered the WUR that’s available on the Faq store, and I’m going over the instructions and I noticed my linkage. does this link look right?
Made me think of the late Paul Winterton and how he re-made a lot of those "magic" linkage pieces for our group.
Lot's of information about that specific linkage piece here:

Another tip: Denatured alcohol is your friend for cleaning up brake fluid. Anyone with a pressure bleeder knows that 😁

I took a look at the old Hella H4s that I removed and replaced with the Koitos. I was surprised that they have the little city lights in them. They are in pretty good shape for having been on my car for almost 38 years. I confirmed that the H4 bulbs in the Hellas are the same 60/55W as the Koito bulbs.

I just got done putting the front Volvo upgrade on and the e21 turbines won’t fit over the caliper.
I've got a set of e30 14x6 Bottlecap wheels you can have for free if you want them. I actually have two sets. Ones a Lemmers made set and the other set is made by F.P.S. Free to a good home.

Nice!
Did you put a couple drops of oil under the felt plug inside the center post while you had the rotor off?
Is your cap marked GERMANY?
No I didn't, but Jeff Schlemmer of Advanced Distributors sure did 🙂 I know I have a German made cap somewhere. Just a matter of finding it...

Here's the original tank on my 1974tii USA version. Is this one cropped? @John76 for the tip on adding that extra ground wire to the fuel level sensor on the tank. No more jumpy fuel level needle on the dash when right side blinker is on.

Found a NOS German made Bosch R5 rotor in my stash. I'll use that along with some non-resisted NGKs that I have. When I run out of the NGKs, I'll switch to Champion N9Ys. Problem solved. Thanks for all of the info...

Spiders and Black Widows, you guys dealing with them too ??

I love my bug-a-salt 😆Pity Da Fly! Clean and effective, just a blast of salt... Works on spiders too.
I normally try to relocate the harmless spiders outside. Black Widows, no mercy... Mosquitos, Flies, YellowJackets, no mercy... Tarantulas are good for the garden as are most spiders. Things that eat mosquitos are my friends, bats, etc. EDIT: Probably not a good idea to shoot a blast of salt into a spider in the body of your 2002. Salt not good in there...
