  1. Great tip Don. I ended up using a small rubber mallet to slide/pound the clips off a box that I rebuilt. Reverse when reassembling the thing. No damage to any of the plastic.
  2. No, the top is riveted to the bottom two sections and the rivets need to be drilled out to open up the box. Unless someone has been in there before and rebuilt the box previously...
  3. That looks similar to the type of horn contact that comes with a Momo hub. Not sure where to get one though. The standard BMW horn contacts for 02s aren't made of brass like that.
  4. Try this e-mail address for cpi auto: cpiauto@gmail.com
  5. Contact Greg at cpi auto. He sells a bracket repair kit. I've purchased several kits from him and they work great. I had a hard time ordering from his web site, so I just contacted him through the e-mail on his site. Good luck, --John http://www.cpiauto.com/
  6. My 1973tii came with a 3.64 rear end stock. 7. Thank you! Thank you! Bill. I just used your method and it worked great. I wasn't looking forward to trying to remove the pins from the plugs. Cool --John
  8. Hi John, Do you know where these other boots go on the Tii. I have not seen a boot like that under my hood. It's the boot for the tempurature sensor connections and thermal time switch on a 3.0 csi. Looks like the part that Bill listed #61131363318 is almost identical. If I would have known that part number, I would have ordered it from BLUNT for cheaper than I got mine for. --John
  9. I jumped all over a 8-pack of those boots for the fuel injection on my E9. He's also got these rubber boots for other sensors on a tii or csi. Part #61131354696

  15. You can put a wire set with loom tube on any 2002 including a tii. Check out this thread: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/p,668283/highlight,kingsbourne/#668283
  16. How about these Coker MICHELIN XDX at $500 a pop 185/70 13 I'd check out Kumhos in 185/70 13 http://www.kumhousa.com/Tire.aspx?id=a554ff1f-6f0e-4a7b-b4f2-f117f7942a2d&cat=22
  17. Way to go Steve! Very professional looking site. Only problem is that looking at the site, I see about three more things I want to buy ;-) Keep up the good work, --John
  18. Yes, the Krylon Dull Aluminum paint I used did say it's for indoor use. I was worried about that too. I put on lots (about 4) coats of Krylon clear over the aluminum. Also, I forgot to mention that I put down several coats of Krylon Zinc-Rich gray primer before the dull aluminum. So far it's been holding up great and they are on my daily driver which is always exposed to the elements. I've also used the Wurth wheel paint on a set of tii alloys and it's very good too. Those are some cool looking wheels you have!
  19. Krylon Dull Aluminum followed by clear coat. That's what I've used on my stock 2002 steel wheels with good results.
  20. Both of my cars (1973tii & 1974tii) have E21 rear drum upgrades. The stock 5x13" tii alloys fit over the drums on the '73 and the stock later style 5x13" steel wheels fit over the drums on the '74. Is it the early style steelies that won't fit? --John
  21. i ordered mine directly from kingsbourne and mine did not include the tube that you speak of. ordered a few months back. just fyi. not sure why it wasn't included as i had ordered it after reading posts like ^^^. You need to call Kingsbourne and ask to have them make you a wire set for a 2002 with a loom tube. Their standard 2002 wire set (listed in their catalog) doesn't come with the tube. You can probably call them and just order the tube and then string the wires yourself. The resistor plug ends are easy to un-screw from the wires so you can thread the wires into the loom. I did it: --John
  22. I always have liked the looks of those wheels. Are they 13x5 ?
  23. Yes, my 1973 tii had those rubber blocks on the door lock rods to keep them from making rattling noises within the door. One of them was really rotten, so I just used a small piece of self adhesive foam on the rod instead.
