  1. You are correct that the windshield is what came on the car since my purchase in 1986. It's definitely showing it's wear. Confirmed green that's cool.. It's faded old green vs. newer Pilkington glass green. Thanks for all of the information about the codes and what not. I love this stuff. Thanks, John
  2. I found the "bug" on my front windshield. You have to shine a light on it just to be able to see it. Makes it hard to take a picture of it. What does this tell you? It reads: MADE IN WEST GERMANY I N F R A SIGLA FG D 611 AS-1 DOT 25 M 91 DGM 33790 VSP
  3. I verified that the front windshield on my '74 must have been replaced prior to my ownership in 1986 and looks to be some unknown aftermarket glass with no "bug" markings on it that I can detect. Front appears clear "to me" with the white paper test. It seems I needs to find me one of them there NOS Pilkington greens now
  4. From my 74tii. Bad pic but same D 291 M101. Must be green. Which code is the color? Must be the dirt. It's the Thrasher after all. Patina. Maybe I'm going color blind 😵‍💫
  5. I plan to bring the extra two sets of Koitos that I ordered to Brisbane and will sell them at cost. I will not hoard, I will not hoard... 😇
  6. The plastic collars on both of my Petri wheels were pretty thrashed. I purchased reproduction ones from FAQ member whs.de (Wolfgang) in Germany. Worked great. Not sure if he's still around, but you might try pinging him. Good luck, John
  7. I just reread the article and see that there's two lights in each set. Oops. You can never have too many headlights eh? 😌 Thank you Rocco! I owe you a beer or three at Brisbane! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
  8. Did all '74 US cars have green glass? I swear that the glass on my '74tii isn't as dark as on my '73tii to the point where I thought the '74 had clear. Is there any marking on the glass itself to confirm Clear vs. Green?
  9. My recent order from IE for some rebuilt axels with new CVs went really good. Ordered online and two days later they were at my doorstep. Sorry to hear that you're having a bad experience with them. I'm thankful that IE offers parts for our cars like new CVs. Hope it works out
  10. All True. One thing I can say with both of my cars is that once they've been set up correctly, they've been really reliable and sort of "set it and forget it". That's been my experience
  11. I ended up using PowerFlex bushings from Blunt for this very reason. I had a set of new BWM control arms and gave up trying to press in either URO or OEM bushings. It's the only place I went with urethane. Not inexpensive...
  12. Took a short drive to a place that overlooks Monterey Bay between the recent rain storms. I'm stoked to have the Thrasher back in action. Thanks to Bart at The Resto Shop. He completely rebuilt the Thrasher's front subframe. On the road again...
  13. I bet our local Bay Area BMW guru Tom Jones probably Jones for some of those Jones 🙂
  14. I always suspect the in-tank screen for the fuel intake in the bottom of the tank. Been there done that.
  15. I have a pair of those Esco brand jack stands like yours and love them.
  16. Just be happy that your car doesn't have the much sought after "quick ratio" steering box. I have one in my '73 and if I don't drive it regularly, I get really sore in the shoulders after a drive. I needs to pump some more iron 😄
  17. Bravo to you guys for creating this write-up. +1 exactly. Thank you, John
  18. Pilkington was the brand on the last one I purchased. Pilkington was the OEM for the BMW ones at the time, but mine came without the little BMW logo because it wasn't purchased through BMW. Don't know if Pilkington is still available through local glass places or not
  19. Another source (since the one above is out of stock): Alternator Plug Connector Pigtail Early Bosch Alternators VW Audi Mercedes BMW WWW.EBAY.COM Up for sale a alternator harness plug connector for early Bosch alternator.
  20. I used one of these on a 3.0 csi alternator that I used to own. Same connections as a stock 2002 alternator that uses the external voltage regulator. 21. I decided to pass. I don't do no VenMo. Not that there's anything wrong with that
  22. I've got the Themis Bracket on both my tii cars and they are working great. Quality made part.
  23. Hello Paul, I received the parts on Monday. Man that was quick! All of the parts look awesome. Thank you for the smooth transaction. Cheers and Happy Holidays to you too, John
