Hello Paul,
I received the parts on Monday. Man that was quick! All of the parts look awesome. Thank you for the smooth transaction. Cheers and Happy Holidays to you too,

I'd be interested in all 4 for $120. PM sent.

The original relay on my '73 had 4 poles and the replacement one I purchased off ebay had three. That's why I did what I did. Zinz, is yours a 4-pole or a 3-pole? Make sure you get the correct one if you go to purchase an original one somewhere. The part # on my epoxy filled one is the 3-pole that I converted over to 4.

I added to my vintage '02 Spark Plug museum. Champion N-9Y's and DENSO W20EP. The only problem with the DENSOs is that the plug ends aren't the removable screw-on type. The Champions on the other hand come with the ends all ready removed and with the end sitting loose in each box like they should be... 😄
Those were the days when you could get a Champion gear bag for $3.50. I bet the Getrag 245 hadn't even hit the shelfs yet... 😄

The final photo with the bushings on either side is how I did it on both of my cars. The correct bushings are BMW Part #18211712091. You just need 4 of those and the bolt/nut. Maybe an additional outer washer. Those other spacers on the parts diagram Part #18214690169 Spacer Sleeve aren't needed as far as I could tell.

Thanks. That is probably a more reasonably priced version of the one I cited on rogerstii.com. You saved me $13.
Has anyone used this modern alternative without regrets?
Terry
Yes. Both of my cars are sporting the newer white cap version. I kept the original black ones because I'm a hoarder 😄

Yes. I have it too. Fits perfect!
Did you install the MVP Rocker panel trim pieces successfully? I tried installing them (2-pieces) using the new MVP clips on my 74tii and gave up in frustration. I haven't made a second attempt at the install yet.

Hey, if you've got a snorkel on your tii, it makes it that easier to convert over to an Alpina A4 setup with the intake hose for the air box. Look at the bright side 🙂

That vacuum bleeder looks like a better option. I just ordered one. Thanks,

Here's some more pics of the bracket installed on my car. I used some rubber grommets between the bracket and the body mounting holes. Did NOT have to re-drill any new holes. It used the original two holes and still moved the plate down so that's it's not rubbing against the chrome trim piece. Hope that helps,
John

I used the Mercedes license plate bracket on my 73tii. It works great. Here's a link to the information that another FAQer posted about it a long time ago. Mercedes part #1078170111.

I have the aluminum cap and it's worked great, but like others I only use the bleeder for air pressure, not filled with fluid. I've read too many horror stories on here about the hose popping off or leaking.

The tool that IE sells for holding the flange in place works really good

I used to own a couple of E21s "sport package". A '79 and an '80. Those alloy wheels (made by Rial? for BMW) were standard issue with the sport package that included an air dam, Rear spoiler, no rear 320i badges, Limited slip 3.64 with 4-speed on the '79, Limited slip 3.91 with 5-speed on the '80. And the Recaro seats. They were cool cars, but nothing like an '02
Oh, and the "sport" steering wheel...

I assume you cleaned out the gas tank and made sure the screen on the in-tank fuel pickup is in place and clean? My '74 used to stall and it turned out that the screen on the fuel pick-up was all crusty and clogged.

I used Palmolive dish washing liquid and one of those bamboo skewers to help poke them in.
