Very pretty but a couple of old bath towels work great, soft against the paint, easy to position and easily washable ( as long as your wife doesn't find them in the wash )
Thanks, Rick
Ha! Yes, that is definitely cheaper, which I appreciate very much!

This is begging for a 'Faq themed item in the store!
Totally agree!

I did find a customizable magnetic fender cover on Amazon, here is my mock up. I wish I was more clever or artistic to design something better or a better text (suggestions welcome).

Hey everyone, happy Father's Day!
I need to buy a new fender cover for my cars, and I was wondering if there was a custom BMW or even a 2002 themed cover somewhere I could purchase. I have done a good amount of Google searching but can't find anything great.
Any help would be appreciated!

Yes! I did see ZRP had one, but only 80 mm. Thanks for finding the 87 mm! I'll give them a call.

Hey everyone - is there anywhere on this earth one can find a new S14 87 mm stroker crankshaft? I'm Google searching and not finding anything in stock right now. Thanks for any tips or pointers!

Rich,
A few years ago I got something similar to this for the 911. I put it under the passenger seat. It delivers adequate bass, has a wired volume remote and is about the size of a hardcover book. Plugs right into the radio.
I have the volume turned up just a hair. You can hardly tell it's there, but that's how I like it. Bass IMO should be there, but not THAT noticeable. Certainly not thumpy. I find it's fine for my needs. I have it velcroed to the floor so no screws penetrating the floor pan.
I think having two would be overkill.
Searching through the forum today on just this topic. I'd like something to sit under the passenger seat. This Kenwood sub might be the one. Thanks for confirming my idea. Does anyone else use one of these in their 2002?

Thanks everyone. This has been very educational. I appreciate everyone's input. I'll probably end up buying an LED conversion kit. I have a local mechanic that can help me, Mark Hutto, who does fantastic 2002 work.

When I was still using regular bulbs (now onto LEDs) I had great luck with the PIAA bulbs; stock wattage and much more light.
Oh, and if the car doesn't already have them, look into relays for at least the high beams- the lights can ask for all of the power and the wires are a bit thin for that...
Dave - do you mind me asking which LED conversion you went with? The metal post with screw that the retaining spring for the driver's side halogen bulb broke when replacing the bulbs (it's old, I guess). So, the way I see it, I have to find a new H4 housing unit, replace the whole thing, or bite the bullet and convert to LED at this time.
I've been looking around, and this conversion looks pretty good:

Happy Sunday. I have a restored '71 2002, and my passenger headlight is kaput. Digging in there, I found out that I have OSRAM 64193 German 55/60W H4 037R bulbs (https://www.osram.com/am/ecat/OSRAM ORIGINAL LINE-Halogen headlight lamps-Cars-Automotive Lighting/com/en/GPS01_1057023/PP_EUROPE_Europe_eCat/ZMP_61180/). They've worked well, but there's no place that sells them locally.
Anyone know if I can just go to my local parts store and get any 12V 55/60W Halogen bulb instead, such as 9003 (https://www.autozone.com/collision-body-parts-and-hardware/headlight/silverstar-headlight/412573_0)?
Thanks for your help in advance,
Peder (super newbie)

Yep, Ben from 2002 AD sells them new. $90. Yowzers.

Ben just got back to me a few days ago, sorry for the delay:
His reply:
"We installed seat heaters from Autoloc in your car. You can find them at www.autoloc.com to buy more"
They've been awesome.

Thanks for the part number Buckeye.

I've sent Ben an email. Might take a few days...
Nice! Love the piping! That looks like the same switches. Yes if you could ask him that would be great. I know all kits are not equal and some will probably be hotter than others.

Great Steve. I just emailed Ben at 2002AD today in fact before I saw your message! He restored my car in 2011, but this apparently wasn't on the long list of things he replaced. Ha!
Underdash panels, underdash covers. They are frequently in this forum's For Sale section as well as on eBay, and are reproduced by 2002AD.

Steve -
Thank you '76, beautiful and helpful pictures.
I took my cluster out to repair the Odometer. There is a tutorial on that procedure in the Articles section.
It really is as easy as they make it sound above.
It would be a good time to clean the back side of all the glass. It made quite a difference on mine.
The Odometer Article says to 'resist the temptation to touch the face of the gauges'... I used a clean paint brush to dust mine. That was all they needed and they look new again.
Have fun! The gauges are beautiful little mechanisms.
